City Rumors at City Hall Confirmed.

Rumors at City hall Yesterday, had indicated Mrs. Brown was hired by the O'Brien Administration but I was not able to get proper verification of this happening. An Item that appeared on face book ended the search for confirmation by Ms. Brown herself.

Face book comments, By Briggitte P. Brown, "I was just hired by the mayor of New Britain as a community organizer. So I have the honor of organizing and involving the residents in the various policy changes in the city. As well as the faith based community, local business, community organizations, etc."

So much to be said of the Mayor's promised of the hiring freeze at the outset of his administration.

Ms. Browns annual salary will be $47,000.

Taxpayers of New Britain be warned of higher taxes may be on the mayor's agenda.

  1. Now that Mrs. Brown is a city official will she have to resign her post as a police commissioner?

Or will the Charter be ignored by the Administration?

  4. What are you going to do to stop it? It is so pervasive and getting deeper and deeper. This city is doomed.

  7. At least with her $47,000 salary she should be able to pay her taxes on time.

  8. Why would we as taxpayers want to pay someone $47,000 per year of our taxpayer dollars to go around and sign up more people to take free stuff that we have to pay for. The entire idea is outrageous.

LET THEM IGNORE THE CHARTER. IF THAT IS THE CASE THAT THE CHARTER PROHIBITS A COMMISSIONER FROM ALSO BEING A CITY EMPLOYEE AS YOU STATED (AND I AM BASING MY OPINION ON THE INFORMATION PROVIDED), THEN ANY FUTURE DECISION MADE BY THE POLICE COMMISSION MAY SUCCESSFULLY BE APPEALED TO THE SUPERIOR COURT AND OVERTURNED BASED ON A VOTE WHICH INCLUDED A COMMISSIONER THAT HAS NO LEGAL STANDING TO HOLD THAT OFFICE, THUS MAKING THE DECISION ILLEGAL. THIS MAY VERY WELL BE A GODSEND TO THE NEXT COP THEY TRY TO FIRE OR EVEN DISCIPLINE!

  11. where in the charter does it say that a city employee can't serve on a commission or hold elective office?

there have been and are a number of city employees on boards and some currently serve on the council.

not saying it is right or wrong, but i believe there is some misinformation in the first comment.

  12. Just imagine if the charter required council members, commission and board members to be current on their taxes?

There wouldn't be any Democrats left to serve!

  13. The Toxic 3 voted against Costco coming to New Britain:

Voting against the project were Democrats David DeFronzo, Eva Magnaszewski and Michael Trueworthy.

  14. I wish we had a Chik-Fil-A restaurant around here so I could piss off a liberal by eating there, but the restaurant chain is obviously too smart to open a business in such a socialist state as Connecticut.

  15. Rumors have it that Tom Cruise is shopping for a new home in CT.

Now that New Britain is under the ultimate socialist gulag, I'll bet New Britain must be tops on his list of locations.
