Mayor O'Brien Claims Audit of New Britain Books Shows $30M Deficit.
FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:
After watching the Mayors' promise of a hiring freeze being ignored. The raiding of the Water Department funds of $10,000 plus forcing the city taxpayers with an annual payment of $800,000 annually. With Sherwood neglected to admit this fact as being a part of cause of this negative report.
Whenever there is an effort to limit the unions control over wages of the city employees we heard from the then state representative O'Brien, Tercyak, and Donald DeFronzo with Phil Sherwood placing his objections also.
All the blame against that past administration is false with in fact all the budgets that O'Brien/Sherwood are alluding too were approved by Democratic control common council. Additionally, Sherwood did serve and voted with his approval of common council budgets while serving as an Alderman.
We also recall this audit was requested by the city workers' unions.
With Sherwood addressing the so called shortfall by not filling vacant positions and cutting on some supplies.
Maybe the administration should eliminate the Recent appointment of Mrs. Brown saving the taxpayers $47K as a start towards fulfilling the Mayor's promise freeze on hiring's which would also be the commencement towards cutting city expenses.

Dude must be a graduate of an inferior unionized public school. Too bad he wasn't given the opportunity to attend a superior private school by way of a voucher system, for then he may be able to grasp the English language!
ReplyDeleteSomeone you are paying to write a report can say anything you want him to, since you are paying him.
ReplyDeleteat least he pays his property taxes which is more than we can say for certain members of the council or the police commission.
ReplyDeleteFrom the story in the Courant, I really couldn't tell if Sherwood is Mayor or if O'Brien is the hired lackey spokesperson for city hall. I still can't tell who works for who?
ReplyDeleteHere is another example of our govt mismanaging money and then wanting more. If you can't manage the taxes you get now why should the American Citizens give the govt more money.

ReplyDeleteFor some reason, every time I see that video with Obama saying: "if you own a business, you didn't build it, it was done for you" I keep picturing Mr. Bernacki and his print shop (Sir Speedy in downtown New Britain), and I wonder if Mr. Bernacki ever bothered to thank Obama for building that print shop for him?
