Mr. Cooper, New Britain's new Superintendent of Schools, was asked to speak to the New Britain Republican Town Committee. With his citing being new set of eyes over the school system he found a tough situation with our accountability state which would normally take 8-9 years however, we need to turn it around in two years. We are not in the position to take it nice and slow. I found no inventory were kept on books with one campus having more than it needs while other lack their needs.
He took this opportunity to quash the rumors that appeared in our local press citing that he is dismantling the bilingual program citing that his granddaughter is taking Spanish in her school because when she gets older and needing a job with her ability of speaking Spanish will be an asset in her getting the job because Spanish will become a widely spoken language in America.
He added the condition of our schools is the worst and have set three plans:
1 Making the schools safe and clean changing the behavioral patterns of our students.
2. Testing students and not passing those that fail.
3. Venture and evaluate all our needs on what we need to do.
We need to update our inventory of books and find what book we lack to enhance our students education.
The Board members put their necks on the line by hiring me therefore, I must ponder things with common sense he concluded.

Thank you very much Superintendent, you have a very hard job to do with little time to do it in. From everything I have read you have all the right ideas to get our schools back on track.

I could only hope that Kurtz's BOE supporters read this and realize just how stupid they were in believing in her ability to lead the school district. She must be laughing out loud about how she fooled the Board. Kochel, Wolski and Saavedra come to mind.
ReplyDeleteGo Dr. Cooper!
The one place he can't fix things with is the one thing that would do the most to fix the problems: school vouchers!
ReplyDeleteThe Democratic Board Members who voted for Mr. Cooper have higher political aspirations. They had to vote for him to maintain their own political viability.
ReplyDeleteDr. Cooper has already shown just how incapable of running the school system the prior administration must have been.
ReplyDeleteIf Zemko is so excited about Cooper and the BOE why wasn't he there to askquestions. All he is trying to do isjump on the band wagon.
ReplyDeleteOver and Over the same names of BOE people are associated with Kurtz and the screwing up this school district. Kochol, Wolski and Kurtz are GONE (AMEN). But Saavedra and all her relatives are still here and employed by the school system. HOW COME !!
ReplyDeleteSaavedra protects her relatives and friends and the people that she thinks are her friends.
ReplyDeleteThats why LOPES got the endorsement for state representative and she did not.
She is surrender by Judis'.
Saavedra was much more qualified to be state rep than Lopes. She lost her credibility by her support for Kurtz.
ReplyDeleteNot according to the N.B.D.T.C..
ReplyDeleteBy it's warped philosophy Lopes was more qualified by virtue of his complete lack of integrity.
