City Hall sources have reported that Mayor O'Brien together with two community organizers were out at Farmington Hills this Sunday door knocking with a letter advising the tenants that their rents cannot be raised by their landlord. They apparently were advised to file complaints with the "New Fair Rent Commission".
The management of the property received 40 complaints from their tenants on the following Monday that the no solicitation and no trespassing signs were ignored and violated by Mayor O'Brien and his associates, aka, community organizers.

The no-soliciting doesn't count towards political issues. It would never hold up in court because it's a first amendment freedom of speech issue. You should have done your homework, Frank.
he should be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. he has no right to trespass on private property that is posted "no trespassing"
Obrian should be arrested for these actions along with his organizers!!!!!!!!

THIS IS THE MOST RIDICULOUS STATEMENT I EVER HEARD. BASED ON THIS STATEMENT ANYONE CAN GO TO THIS GUY'S HOUSE AND PREACH POLITICS ALL THEY WANT AND HE WOULD BE POWERLESS TO STOP THEM FROM ENTERING HIS PRIVATE PROPERTY BECAUSE IT WOULD VIOLATE THEIR FREE SPEECH RIGHTS TO TRESPASS ON HIS LAND AND HE COULD NEVER REMOVE THEM FROM HIS PROPERTY SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO TALK ABOUT POLITICS EVEN IF HE DOESN'T WANT THEM ON HIS PROPERTY. I GUESS THIS SOCIALIST REGIME HAS ENDED PRIVATE OWNERSHIP OF PROPERTY AS WE KNEW IT. MAYBE THE LANDLORDS SHOULD MOVE THEIR PROTEST TO HIS FRONT LAWN?

The solution to the financial problems would be to make it a requirement that anyone who works for New Britain (teachers, police, fire, city hall, etc) has to live in New Britain (and register their cars in New Britain) would bring in hundreds of stable households. Property values would rise, tax rolls would rise, schools would improve (because the problem with the schools is the children who are currently attending, and the homes they come from, not the schools themselves).
What they should do is just stop spending money like lunatics. If they lived within their means, the city wouldnt have a peoblem. And by the way, landlords can raise rents, the city cannot get in between a contractural agreement between two private parties. If the tenant doesn't like the increase, he or she is free to move.
To Annonynous #2 (Chris C) it would hold up in court. Its a private property that has no trespassing signs clearly posted, so by law, those signs are lawful instruction to stay off the property.So now that he has been notified of this, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM GO BACK THERE !!!!! NO'Brien would get arrested just like his wife does.
Apparently trespassing laws are just one more set of laws Democrats believe they are above.
