  1. I didn't think ethics applied to Democrats.

  2. I think this mayor is too dumb to realize people laugh at him behind his back...and everyone knows Sherwood is a liar...the general public is embarrassed....this complaint is just another line of crap...

  3. After the New Britain City Journal newspaper published a story on December 7, 2012 questioning if there was a conflict of interest about community organizer position , the Mayor of New Britain has still not admitted any wrong doing.

Instead of addressing the issue, his office has claimed information to be inaccurate. Mayor O’Brien did not address the issue that he gave misinformation to council members or the media about the Briggitte Brown's community organizer position funding source.

  4. The history of conflicts all over the Council floor with every Alderman covering for each other in year of 2007...

In addition to former Alderman Catanzaro’s conflicts of interest fiasco not only as the head of the HRA Agency but as a city employee, Alderwomen Shirley Black was/is a NB school crossing guard, Alderman. Centeno and wife are employees of NB public schools, Alderman Hermanowski’s daughter is married to Dave DeFronzo a teacher at NB High, Alderwomen ToniLyn Collins is employed at the New Britain Water Department. Additionally, the Majority Leader Alderman Trueworthy’s wife works for HRA and Sherwood’s wife works for AFSCME.

And in the year 2007 these council folks are the ones proposing to pass a new Ethics Resolution for the city Council and city employees; need we say more in the year 2012 on subject of ETHICS?

  5. And don't forget the HUD conflicts of interest against Ald Trueworthy and Ald Collins.

  6. Just wondering, if the mayor is subpoenaed and ordered to testify in the court case, will Sherwood have to take the stand with him so he can tell the mayor what to say?

  7. :Fact: this past summer, the Herald posts an article quoting Mayor O'Brien announcing that Briggitte Brown has been hired as a Community Organizer - a la Obama - and that she will be paid $47K using a HUD funded grant. Fact: Though he knows that he misspoke, i.e., lied, O'Brien never retracts that statement.

Now, "ccinnb" and "mvs60" (commenters to the Herald on line - see nothing to complain about with O'Brien's prevarication. To fend off criticism and defend O'Brien, against the wicked Blint, here comes the mighty, DCOS, "PHIL", flying in to "save the day!" The trouble is, nobody listens to PHIL anymore. His false claims of threats against him and his baseless assertions of lawbreaking by the RTC Chair are legendary. But, at least there are always the twin soldiers, ccinnb and mvs60 as backup. But, where is any kind of statement from the Herald reporter/staff writer re the original story about the hiring of Brown.

    SAD, SAD, SAD! "

I WAS ROFL AT HIS ONE. ALL I COULD PICTURE WAS O'BRIEN SITTING ON SHERWOOD'S LAP LIKE ONE OF THOSE WOODEN DUMMYS AND SHERWOOD'S HAND INSIDE O'BRIEN'S BACK SO HE COULD MOVE O'BRIEN'S LIPS AS HE SPOKE FOR O'BRIEN. IN OTHER WORDS, BUSINESS AS USUAL IN NEW BRITAIN.
