  1. With Malloy as Governor look for things to get a lot worse! The year 2014 can't come soon enough to vote him out of office. He has put CT in a death spiral with all of his tax increases.

  2. You clowns were saying the same thing about Obama and we won. Same thing will happen with O'Brien and Malloy. Our tax collector's days are numbered as well. Cheryl barely squeaked out a victory last time and she won't be so lucky this time around. Guaranteed.

  3. New Britain Mayor O'Brien feels beleaguered by the lack of confidence in his management ability in persuading the tax payers of New Britain of the merits of his pie-in-sky $100,000 spending campaign for his re-election campaign. The mayor found the $100,000 sum in a legal services budget to hire a Democratic public relations firm Global Strategies Group to combat the NB landlords, who have also hired a former local television reporter to track O'Brien.

The resources and authority of the City exceed those of the landlords, but it is never enough revenue when opposition breaks out in what's become a one-party town. O'Brien must have known he'd stumbled when a couple of fellow Democrats on the city council told the Hartford Courant they would have opposed the unappealing $100,000 contract if they'd been given a chance to vote on it.

  4. How many text books could the city have purchased for the schools with the $100,000 the mayor is spending on a PR firm. How many books could have been purchased with the $47,000 wasted on a community organizer position. How many books if the mayor didn't hire an additional secretary and a communications director? Given the choice of hiring a teacher or a PR firm, the city decided to hire the PR firm.

SOUNDS LIKE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY DISTURBED AT THE FACT THAT THE ELECTED TAX COLLECTOR IS A REPUBLICAN!

  6. The 100,000 would have covered almost half the cost of hiring just one teacher!

  8. To NB Progressive, it goes to show you just how many uninformed people we have in this city, state and country when they keep electing these type of people to serve. They all have one thing in common and that's they think it is governments responsibility to regulate and tax everything in our lives. They try to be sympathetic and quite frankly pathetic in their attempts to pander to special interests throughout this country but in the end all we have as a nation is more debt, more problems and an even more corrupt society all because of their failed leadership! And for the record I'll bet my house on the fact that Tim O'Brien doesn't win another term in NB as well as Malloy the arrogant taxman!
