Free Speech a Must

  1. Communism is, at its core, an ideology based upon the idea that society would be better off if everybody were exactly the same. Obviously, the idea that everybody should be exactly alike is incompatible with freedom of anything.

  2. In a Communist society, freedom of expression is only granted when it benefits society as a whole. Thus while communism struggles to become the ruling system, it supports freedom of speech; yet once it becomes the dominant party, freedom of speech is no longer useful to the Communist state as it may allow for oppositional speech.
