Erin Stewart just
vetoed critical funding for human services and community organizations in our
city!
Mayor Stewart had proposed reducing
and eliminating $126,432 allocated by the city from federal HUD grants
to organizations that provide needed human services that help people
in our city. When City Council Democrats, without a single Republican
vote, restored some of the funding that Stewart had cut, She responded by
vetoing $371,000 in critical funding for services for children and youth,
feeding the hungry, helping women and families harmed by domestic violence,
keeping the homeless warm and more.

What these socialists fail to recognize is that the money has to come from somewhere.
ReplyDeleteInstead of constantly looking for a free ride from those of us who do work and pay taxes, isn't it about time that some of these Democrats actually went to work and started paying taxes for a change instead of living their entire lives bleeding those of us who pay for their lifetime free ride?
As Margaret Thatcher once said, "the problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people's money to spend"
Thanks to the wild and out of control spending of the previous socialist administration, for New Britain it is definitely later.
maybe Erin should send out job applications to every liberal who bemoans the loss of their free stuff, oh that's right, thanks to the Democrats there simply are no jobs.
ReplyDeleteErin: I bet your have little Mac very upset with you. Keep up with your good work.
ReplyDeleteI am starting to think that the d next to their names stands for deadbeat.

ReplyDeleteThe Federal government allows for 15 percent funding for three years. These organizations need to be self sufficient after that time. Three years have pasted for all of them. The Democrats want it to be 21 percent, 6 percent above the national normal. Do we have the money in the general fund to pay back the difference. The answer is NO.
Being 6% above the national average that is be asked by the Democrats Mayor Stewart is correct with the use of her veto.
ReplyDeleteIt's about time the gravy train pulled into the station for these freeloaders!
ReplyDeleteTime for these deadbeat Democrats to get a job and stop bleeding those of us that are paying for their lifetime of freebies!
