HAS THE CPOA BECOME THE ADMINISTRATON’S ADVOCATE?
We went through a Presidency with that individual using his notoriety to become a member of the Board of Education and with my resigning as it’s treasure, forcing an election of new officers, that occurred in the recent past.
As A board member, I attempted to make two motions at that meeting but, was cut off by the newly elected Vice president who immediately turned over the microphone over to Mayor Erin Stewart for her presentation.
Needless to indicate that my motions were never evaluated by those members in attendance.
We have had many effective leaders in the past like former mayors, State Commissioners, but one stands out who was outstanding in scaring both sides of the political spectrum, being Mr. Stanley Nevers, who held elected representatives from both parties accountable for the expenditure of the tax payers dollars.
The CPOA took no issue over the sale of the Patton Brook Well because the Mayor was expecting the sale to go through but, Alderman David DeFronzo took a stand against the sale, with the proposal being defeated.
The CPOA also has not made any issue over the Alderman Trueworthy’s episode at the Mayor’s office and the adverse anti-gay comments directed at owners of a city establishment.
There were other issues the spokesman for the CPOA organization failed to address.
Sincerely,
Frank Smith, New Britain a CPOA Board Member.
sounds like they may have become the puppets for the new mayor or even possibly the new leader of the chamber?
ReplyDeleteI remember when there was a CPOA rep at every council meeting and they had comments on several of the items on the agenda. Now they seem to be somewhat defunct as an organization of any consequence. Somewhat of a rudderless ship.
ReplyDeleteIt is very unfortunate that the CPOA origi8nated in 1924 but due to the recant representation of it's leadership possibly its finally reaching it's demise.
ReplyDeleteFrank you helped to get those people elected that is serving the mayor's agenda.
ReplyDeleteYou are a board member aren't you?
An organization that was once a powerful voice in city government is now basically nothing.
ReplyDeleteFrank, I am surprised that one of the same people, who went out of your way to help this woman get elected it seems to be running away from her and her insane policies! Did she kicked you to the curb or are you intentionally trying to distance yourself from her and her father and others dealings with the thug Zherka from New York?
ReplyDeleteCould it be that the people who used to be the driving force behind this organization are among the ones fleeing Connecticut to get away from Malloy's miserable anti-business climate where welfare bums are king and workers and business owners are punished severely for working hard and making money?
ReplyDeleteWOW #6 says that our mayor has insane policies?
ReplyDeletePlease cite a few examples of her alleged insanity?
Has someone offended you Frank?
ReplyDeleteFrank raises some good points here. The CPOA would never say anything if they disagreed with Mayor Stewart and certainly they wouldn't campaign to change her position. That leaves people thinking that they are an arm of the republican party. It makes sense to me and I see it.
ReplyDeletemakes you wonder who's interests they really represent.
ReplyDeleteThe guy that was the president of this douched bag Organization was more concerned about helping the thug Zherka, steal an election than protecting tax payers! Nick Mercier, should also be investigated by the FBI.
ReplyDeleteFrank, you are a good writer. Why not show everyone how good you are and do an expose on Zherka and the the New Britain Republican Town Committee? You got used like everyone else. When Robin's paper folds you can step into your own paper.
ReplyDeleteRat them all out and be a hero to New Britain.

Obviously a disappointed O'Brien supporter. My heart bleeds for your massive loss in the last election which included losing a record number of council seats as well as a landslide in the mayoral race.
Why doesn't someone do a follow-up story on the miraculous job Tim O'Brien is doing in his made up job working for DeFronzo at the state? You know the high paying job that he was working at for 4 days before even filling out an application for employment. Doesn't the state always go around and hire people who never even applied for a job that was never posted?

ReplyDeleteIt seems that all you know how to do is misspell words and call people nasty names. And now, add to that, disparage Mayor Stewart. Would you prefer two more years of O'Brien who gave away hundreds of thousands of dollars to his cronies, Pudlin,, Cuin, Occhiogrosso and the events coordinator from whom the city never saw a lick of work? Of course you would because you're one of them.
The only reason you are bad mouthing Robin Vinci is that she tells the truth and NB Democrats don't like that.
Democrats and Truth?? That is like oil and water, they just don't mix!
ReplyDeleteThe only reason you are bad mouthing Robin Vinci is that she tells the truth and NB Democrats don't like that...
ReplyDeleteIsn't Robin a Democrat?
Stanley Nevers is rolling over in his grave.....and would never have stood for Team Stewarts's phoniness (that includes Tim at the Chamber and Erin the Mayor's office). How is their agenda in the best interests of city taxpayers?
ReplyDeleteWasn't Sam Zherka a driving force behind the CPOA? Now that he isn't around, it would only make sense there is no one driving the interest anymore.
ReplyDeleteSam Z was working with CtPOA, not CPOA
ReplyDeleteMaybe the old man could find another Zherka like individual to get this organization going again?
