Democrats become "Socialist".

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

The Executive Committee of the National Democratic Committee announced to- day that commencing on January 2015 the organization will be known as the socialist Democratic Committee.   Spokesman Debbie Wasserman Schultz said “ This change has been a long time in the Making”. “ We are making this change in solidarity with our brothers in Europe she continued”.
One can only wonder how many registered Democrats here in New Britain, who may have fled along with their parents, the socialist run countries in Europe and came to the USA for the freedom it offers but are now are faced to separating from the Democratic party due it’s new affiliation with the socialist party.
Will they now join the Republican, Independent, or the unaffiliated registrations in retaliation to the Democratic leadership's decision?

The famaous Mrs. Clinton

I am unsure how a woman who has never started a business, who is famous for being married to Bill Clinton and who has had a fairly undistinguished career as a public servant could be so wise about business matters, but I tip my hat to her. People scoffed when she dared to speak the truth earlier this week that: “Business does not create jobs.” [sic] But I am a believer.

Alderman Louis Salvio Supports Change to State Representatives..

Currently, New Britain’s State General Assembly Delegation comprises five delegates, one senator and four representatives. All five are Democrats, a composition has not changed for over ten years. Two of our  state representatives are shared with neighboring towns; the 24th. with the town of Newington and the 22nd. with the town of Plainville.

Under this current delegation, New Britain’s educational, socio economic and political viability has deteriorated to the point that it can be considered abysmal and functionally unproductive in all categories.

The Republican Party of New Britain offers a slate of young, energetic and active business and professional candidates who are ready with fresh ideas to offer more than party loyalty to bring New Britain out of its current state of economic and educational doldrums. These candidates will act to overcome the Governor’s largest tax increase in state history and the unprofessional and unethical behaviors of some of our current state delegation.

The Republican slate includes: Atty. Gennaro Bizzarro, New Britain’s current Corporation Counsel (24th); Law School Graduate, Edward Colon (25th); New Britain Business Owner, Piotr (Peter) Ceglarz (26th). This delegation will offer honest leadership and representation for ALL the people of New Britain and not simply be beholden to one Political Party or faction. Please, vote for the people of New Britain, vote for these fresh capable voices of change, vote against do nothing representatives.

As was said by one writer (source unknown), “when the party becomes more important than principle, we are in dire straits, for it reveals that our leaders are incapable or unwilling to think critically for themselves.”

Lou Salvio, New Britain

NEW POLL: DEMS FARING WORSE THAN 2010

What’s the point of generic ballot poll questions? After all, there are no generic candidates. And that’s precisely how candidates win in difficult environments in this age of nationalized elections. They define their opponents as out of the mainstream and themselves as independent of their own parties. But in the closing days of an election such as this one, there may be no metric more valuable since it is one of the only insights we have into how late-breaking voters will cast their ballots in close contests. If candidates haven’t succeeded in defining those terms by now, especially given the surge in early voting, it is unlikely they will be able to. And if the late breakers go as the new WaPo/ABC News poll suggests, Democrats will be headed to bed early on Nov. 4 while Republicans are uncorking the celebratory champagne. The 6-point advantage for the GOP among likely voters would be enough to flip several toss-up races to Republican candidates and might even be enough to shoo a couple of more elephants into the barn, including Scott Brown in New Hampshire.

Sending the wearing of military uniforms underground in the wake of last week’s horrific terrorist attacks on soldiers calls for a new battle cry from the courageous Swift Boat veterans.  Canada Free Press suggests: ‘Wear Them, Don’t Hide Them’; ‘Don’t Let the Terrorists Make You a John Kerry.’

President Obama "MIA"

President has turned over the internet question to be controlled by the United Nations which will raise havoc over the US’S freedom of speech.  Unfortunately our President is MIA in leading the desires of our citizens concerns.

It is Widely known that the UN is controlled by Russia and China's Veto Powers.

The Mayor’s wisdom in raising the Parking rates for the City.

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

I have written, in the past, regarding the new rates at the city’s parking meters and garages of two dollars per hour and three dollars per hour at the court house area.
The mayor has always stated that fair and balance will be addressed to all residents.
Is this why Broad Street area is not included to have meters?
Is this fare and balance promised by our mayor for all the citizens of our city to apply in all areas of our city?
When discussing this unfair approach with a city Alderman he quickly stated that the lawyers can afford the parking rates by the court house.
This of course explains the mind set by our membership of the common council, showing the disregard for the person that was served a summons to appear in court, who could not pay the applicable fine and placed under arrest. Without mentioning that his/her car also being towed away while being incarcerated.
I personally applaud the only council member, Michael Trueworthy, who voted against this issue with his seeing the adversity as being anti-business friendly.

NEW BRITAIN CITY DEMOCRATS IGNORE CITIZENS EXPOSTULATION.

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

With the adverse actions by Alderman Michael Trueworthy at the Mayor’s office, in a drunk rampage, and subsequently at a local business establishment resulting with his “gay bashing” was certainly sufficient reason for his removal from the City Common Council and urging him to seek proper medical help for his malady, but he continues to occupy his council seat.
With his replacement, as Pro Tem, Alderperson Susan Bielinski is refusing to step down from her post subsequent to being ordered to do so by the City’s Civil Service Commission Hearing with her immediately appealing the commission’s findings which will serve as a legal maneuver, to which she is entitled, until the next city’s election cycle.
We all remember a similar civil service commission finding, being ignored by the common council Democratic leadership.    Resulting with its chairman resigning his post who was also a former Mayor of our great City.

New Britain Politics gets polluted By The DTC Chair.

With the DTC Chairman, John McNamara, filing a complaint with the state elections commission as reported. in today’s New Britain Herald, against the Connecticut Property Owners Alliance political action committee.   With the Chairman claiming it was a well-financed and vicious campaign to unseat Former Mayor Tim O’Brien by Sam Zherka of New York, a local property owner.
The Ct. CPOA leadership called it another attempt in harassing his group for standing up for the New Britain property owners and will be seeking a legal recourse against the chairman of the NBDTC.
The Battle was over O’Brien’s proposed absentee landlords fees and electing his replacement “Erin Stewart”.

The Costitutional Republic!

I published and emailed a short letter the day following the election of Barack Obama for a second term in 2012 in answer to a friend’s question, “What do we do now?” A few asked me if I was going to give up up my fight to help save our Constitutional Republic.

CRUZ LOOKS BEYOND MIDTERMS

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, is laying out his vision for what Republican priorities should be if they wrest control of the Senate come November. Cruz writes in a USA Today OpEd: “Republicans — poised to take control of Congress — should set our sights on three big goals to make Americans feel confident in their futures once again: jumpstart the economy, safeguard constitutional liberties, and strengthen our national security.” The Texas Senator goes on to outline “ten critical priorities for the 2015 Congress” which include embracing a pro-growth agenda, repealing ObamaCare, stopping amnesty while securing the border, reining in judicial activism, battling corruption, tax reform, a balanced-budget amendment and repealing Common Core.

White House Allowing Ebola illneses to enter Our Cities

Has America passed the point of no-return where dying cultures arrive when their internal logic and external conversations descends into illiteracy, and then madness? Perhaps. For example, how is it possible that persons fresh from the site of outbreak of one of the world’s worst viruses, simply walk off airplanes into American cities? Or, consider the dangerous, utterly indefensible policy of allowing the border to stay open, and illegal entries to cross, allowed to stay, even when criminal convictions for violent crimes are proved.

Ebola on the Spread

There’s a bitterly cold,  ill wind blowing all over the land and another brutal winter lurking ‘round the corner.  The ill wind is raising up dust devils of a most hideous nature.  The most worrisome dust devil of the moment is Ebola, which the United Nations-run World Health Organization (WHO) predicts will have spread to 1 million by this January.

THANKS BE TO GOD FOR THE REPUBLICANS IN THE SENANTE

Just to let you know these  Senators voted to remove the 2nd AMENDMENT to the Constitution!!!   When you read this Thursday morning there will be only 20days left until election day. Will you remain silent or urge your friends to vote instead of letting less than 1/4 of the population elect your leaders.

The U.N. Resolution 2117 lists 21 points dealing with firearms control, but
perhaps of most interest is point number 11. It: "CALLS FOR MEMBER STATES TO
SUPPORT WEAPONS COLLECTION and DISARMAMENT of all UN countries".

By a 53-46 vote - The U.S. Senate voted against the U.N. resolution.
HOORAY!

Now, Which 46 Senators Voted to Destroy Us? Well, let their names become
known! See below. If you vote in one of the states listed with these 46
"legislators" vote against them.

In a 53-46 vote, the Senate narrowly passed a measure that will stop the
United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.  The
Statement of Purpose from the Senate Bill reads:  "To uphold Second
Amendment rights and prevent the
United States from entering into the United
Nations Arms Trade Treaty."  The U..N. Small Arms Treaty, which has been
championed by the
Obama Administration, would have effectively placed a
global ban on the import and export of small firearms.  The ban would have
affected all private gun owners in the
U.S. and had language that would have
implemented an international gun registry, now get this, on all private guns
and ammo.

Astonishingly, 46 out of our 100 United States Senators were willing to give
away our Constitutional rights to a foreign power.
Here are the 46 senators who voted to give your rights to the U.N.
Baldwin (D-WC)
  Baucus (D-VT)
Bennett (D-CO)
Blumenthal (D-CT)

What? No Republicans????

Folks: This needs to go viral. These Senators voted to let the UN take OUR guns. They need to lose their next election. We have been betrayed.

Little Poem, so true it hurts! By: Ed & Joan Mercier

Another year has passed
And we're all a little older.
Last summer felt much hotter,
And winter seems much colder.

There was a time not long ago
When life was quite a blast.
Now I fully understand
About 'Living in the Past'

We used to go to weddings,
Football games and lunches.
Now we go to funeral homes
And after-funeral brunches.

We used to have hangovers,
From parties that were crazy.
Now we suffer body aches,
We're sleepy and we're lazy.

We used to go out dining,
And couldn't get our fill.
Now we ask for doggie bags,
Come home and take a pill.

We used to often travel
To places near and far.
Now we get sore asses
From riding in the car.

We used to go to nightclubs
And drink a little booze.
Now we stay home at night
And watch the evening news.

That, my friend is how life is,
And now my tale is told.
So, enjoy each day and live it up...
Before you're too damned old.

The Democrats Attempting to Divert From Existing Crisis

It’s interesting to note that the Democrats are attempting to use the global warming/climate change “crisis” to divert attention from the many other crises for which they are responsible. PRESSURE GROWS FOR TRAVEL BAN, FRIEDEN OUSTER

With a new poll showing that 60 percent of voters (including 57 percent of Democrats) favor the idea of banning travel to the United States by those in the Ebola hot zone in West Africa, how long can the Obama administration hold the line? The issue of a travel ban took center stage in key Senate debates in Kansas and Colorado on Wednesday night and is sure to stay front and center as a dozen or more contested Senate races rage into their final days. The administration’s decision is hard to defend and easy to attack, especially compared to convoluted claims Democrats have been making about funding caps.

Wednesday, October 15, 2014

The president is now paying attention. He has to. Ebola has reached “crisis stage,” according to his minions.

Ebola is not passed from person to person easily. Two health care workers are sick from Ebola, after dealing with now deceased Ebola Thomas Eric Duncan in Dallas. One of the health care workers is doing well, and the other flew to Cleveland before she was visibly sick, and therefore, we are told, before she was contagious.

With her being the National security advisor to our President it would be wise for his removal of her from office.

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

Apparently, Alderman Michael Trueworthy has learned nothing about controlling his tendency for making inappropriate and unprofessional comments, in this case, toward the owner of a firm seeking to do business with the City.  During the discussion regarding outsourcing of the city's Workers' Compensation Claims to a private firm, Mike Trueworthy was questioning the firm's owner about the cost to the city of his service. After  a few nonsensical questions, Trueworthy turned in the direction of the Mayor and said, [ all this money for flipping paper.] He should have been called, "out of order." By Mayor Stewart; Trueworthy then sat down, abruptly.

Supposedly. Trueworthy is getting professional help for controlling his inappropriate behaviors.  It appears to me, that Mike is getting no benefit from this so called "help."

Editor's Note::Obama's Real Plan Is to Destroy the Republican Party /Immigrants in US at All-Time High

Newly released figures show that the U.S. immigrant population grew by 1.4 million from July 2010 to the middle of last year, reaching a record 41.3 million in July 2013.

About 3.3 million new immigrants settled in the United States in that period, but the number was offset by deaths and return immigration among the existing population.

The 41.3 million figure was double the number in 1990, nearly triple the number in 1980, and more than quadruple the figure in 1970, when it stood at 9.6 million, according to the data from the Census Bureau's latest American Community Survey.

Immigrants — all those in the country who were not U.S. citizens at birth, including illegal immigrants — comprised 13.1 percent of all U.S. residents last year, the highest percentage in 93 years, the Center for Immigration Studies noted.

As recently as 1980, the figure was just 6.2 percent.

The largest number of immigrants in the country in 2013 originally came from Mexico, 11.58 million, but that was down by 126,126 since 2010.

The region showing the greatest growth in U.S. immigration from 2010 to 2013 was South Asia, with 372,546 new immigrants, including 254,355 from India, bringing the total number of immigrants from that region to 2.71 million.

In raw numbers, the largest number of immigrants in the country last year came from East Asia, 7.88 million, including 2.38 million from China and more than a million each from Korea and Vietnam.

There were 3.9 million immigrants from the Caribbean last year, including 1.14 from Cuba and 991,046 from the Dominican Republic.

About 3.16 million immigrants from Central America were in the country, including 1.25 million from El Salvador and 902,293 from Guatemala.

The greatest share of the 2.76 million immigrants from South America were from Colombia, 677,231.

The U.S. was home to 1.81 million immigrants from the Middle East, with the largest number — 363,972 — from Iran.

There were also 4.88 million immigrants from Europe, 1.5 million from Sub-Saharan Africa, and 846,921 from Canada.

California was home to more immigrants last year than any other state, 10.31 million, followed by Texas with 4.36 million.

But the state with the largest percentage growth in its immigrant population from 2010 to 2013 was North Dakota, 27 percent.

The Bielinski issues.

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

In March of 2014, Alderman Lou Salvio filed a Civil Service complaint against Alderwoman and then Majority Leader of the Common Council, Suzanne Bielinski alleging that Bielinski spearheaded a plot to create a Classified  Service position for her niece by marriage, Jessica Gerratana. In doing so Salvio alleges that Bielinski, sister of State Senator Terry Gerratana violated Section 4-9 of the City Charter, several sections of the Code of Ordinances ( Section on Administration) and the Rules of the New Britain Civil Service Department ( Merit Rules).

It took a little over 7 months after the filing of the complaint for the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to hold its final meeting and render a decision on October 6, 2014.

Five unpaid volunteer electors of the City from both major parties comprise the CSC. They give willingly of their time without fanfare in helping the City. All this not withstanding and after spending hours during those 7 months poring over evidentiary materials, lawyers for Bielinski and Gerratana as well as Gerratana and Bielinski themselves  took turns making summation statements that in my opinion, did little else other than to vilify the CSC, Civil Service Rules, Lou Salvio , witnesses and insisted that the entire process was politically motivated. In one of her comments, Bielinski insinuated that one witness tried to curry favor with the current Mayor Stewart by sending her a flower arrangement after she was elected Mayor. Lawyers especially should act professionally and refrain from disparaging comments. As two of the lawyers walked out of the hearing they were heard to say that the entire process and these hearings amounted to  “ A JOKE!” HOW DO YOU FEEL IF YOU ARE A COMMISSIONER AND HAD TO HEAR THAT? It amounts to buffoonery from two members of the Connecticut Bar !

The readers of this article must realize this whole debacle took place while Tim O’Brien was Mayor and while there were 13 Democrats on the Council.  It is in my opinion a clear case of nepotism revealed. The current CSC was not involved nor were the current Mayor, any of her staff, Alderman Salvio or the Corporation Council.

The league of women voters forum held this past week.

Many of the attendees, during coffee breaks, disgust their disappointments that their written questions were not asked by the league.

That type of control by the league ignoring concerns of wanting questions like; how many illegal students have these state representatives, allowed to come into our towns and cities?

Many, have voice that they would attend future league forums.

Have Democrats Become The Homophobic Party?

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

Perhaps when Alderman Trueworthy attacked 2 gay men who happen to own a business in New Britain and pay taxes in this city, he was simply following the lead of the governor he no doubt idolizes?  Just yesterday during the debate with Tom Foley, Governor Malloy called conservatives who happen to disagree with his policies "right wing tea baggers."  So now if you just disagree with Malloy's policies, Malloy viciously attacks you by calling you a vile slang term that refers to a specific homosexual sex act.  I guess we all now know how Governor Malloy really feels about homosexuals which is apparently consistent with Alderman Trueworthy's feelings as he demonstrated in that bar that night.  I suppose Malloy is free to ridicule and insult gay men all he wants, because they will no doubt still vote for him since all that ever seems to matter to such liberal groups is the "D" next to a candidate's name no matter how much that candidate may personally despise them as demonstrated through his comparing them to a group of Republicans which we all know Malloy despises as the lowest form of life on earth.  The only question left is whether Malloy feels that Republicans or homosexuals (tea baggers as he called them) are the lower form of life.  One thing is certain, we will never know the real truth because we would have to rely on Malloy to tell us the truth.

For those of you who don't know the definition of "tea bagging" here it is:

"Teabagger" is yet another shining example of "civil discourse" by left wingers in America.

The etymology of the word "teabagging" involves a slang term originating in American homosexual subculture involving a specific (typically humiliating based on context) sexual activity between two homosexual males. I won't bother going into clinical details. The term first entered popular culture via a gay bar scene in a 1998 comedy/drama movie called "Pecker" and then video game players imitating the act (politics.stackexchange.com).

Congratualtions New Britain: You're in 3rd Place!

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

The tax rates have now been set for towns and cities across Connecticut and New Britain is in 3rd place with the 3rd highest taxes in the state!

New Britain's mill rate of 49.0 is below that of only 2 other cities:  Hartford is in first place at 74.29 and Waterbury is in second place at 58.22!

The natural thing to do would be to blame Mayor Erin Stewart for this horrific placing of having one of the highest tax rates in the state, but it is simply not her fault.  This high tax rate is the direct result of the wild and out of control spending of the former mayor, Tim O'Brien.  It doesn't take long for things like $100,000 consulting fee to one of Governor Malloy's former staff members, tens of thousands for a contract to a former state representative with no specific known duties or responsibilities to fulfill for the lucrative payments, or a $45,000 a year paid agitator called a "community organizer" in the mayor's office to add up and require higher taxes to pay for all that wild spending for cronies of the former mayor.
Mayor Stewart inherited this mess and now the rest of us must pay for the previous 2 years of gross mismanagement in city hall.

Alderman Louis Salvio Objects To The Court Injuctions fillings Against Costco Construction by Resident

The City of New Britain is dire trouble in a number of ways, all of which contribute to a very difficult economic situation facing taxpayers and none of which can be said to be the fault of any one particular person or political group. The fault (s) lie (s) in the accumulation of mistakes made in reading economical trends and poorly thought out solutions to trying to fix mistakes.

New Britain is land poor, only 13.4 square miles; as such there is precious little space to offer businesses in the way of developers looking to open businesses. There is a plethora of multifamily housing built up around the major factories in the center of town and in the center of all that, what was once a thriving, vibrant and bustling Central Business District (CBD).The factories and the CBD are gone for the most part, leaving all the multifamily housing loaded with people that have few places to employ them, people with little disposable income to spend and fewer places close by at which to buy things. The city’s grand list decreases, people move out of town and what is left is a city that does not have the wherewithal to support ever growing educational mandates, ever growing infrastructure problems ever growing public safety problems, health problems, etc, in other words, a dying city.

What to do? A huge company (COSTCO) comes to town with a proposal to build a huge store. But we have no place to offer for such a huge store; they ask for permission to use a portion of the Stanley Golf Course for their store; they will replace the golf course land with adjacent state-Town of Newington land and reconfigure the golf course. Briefly, after four years of planning and after all the approvals are in place, and after the Common Council votes 12-3 to approve the plan, along comes Elaine Lechowicz and says this is all wrong, we must not violate the Stanley Trust - a Trust that has been violated many times in the past - and rape park land. She files one “injunction/appeal/reconsideration after another to satisfy what?  The park land has been replaced, the golfers are satisfied, the city is satisfied and the non resident college professors at CCSU are not objecting. However, Elaine wants her way.

The state and the city lose potential, direly needed jobs, the city loses tax income the potential employees lose pay checks. But, Elaine Lechowicz is smug and happy. I find it hard to imagine that Alex Stanley would have agreed with Elaine Lechowicz. In my opinion, this action by Elaine Lechowicz does not promote the general welfare, is selfish and punitive.

Louis Salvio, Alderman
