My original posting of January 8th which did point out the slowness in the progress of the demolition process of this vast project.
Recent pictures made available to me by this blog’s reader indicating that the project is progressing at a much faster rate.
Hopefully, with the bad economics that is currently plaguing any new investment venture; our new site when available for the entrepreneurs will attract businesses willing to invest ignoring the bad economical projections.
New Britain fervently needs the new tax revenue that this development will bring in when it gets underway.
New Britain Taxpayers:
ReplyDeletePlease take a ride to Slater Rd. to see how much of the former Pinnacle Heights property has been cleared. Although it took awhile to spped thigs up, it is wonderful to see the progress being made on this project. Think positive.

ReplyDeleteAdam Platoz was the council member that was concerned about where Jordan's Caterers would be getting their hotdogs for the golf course too. He made a rude comment maybe from China with Jordans representives present at our council meeting. I think we all agree that keeping business local is in the best interest of the local economy but to what end? Local printers can be as much as triple the cost. Why? because local businesses have much higher overhead and taxes in CT. I hope
the job is done well in Tennessee.
At least the job is being done in
this country.
Adam Platosz should ask, what firm is doing the demolition work at Pinnacle Heights? Is it a local demolition contractor? If not, why not? Adam's rantings on this subject are less than reasonable.
I agree with Alderman Salvio...it is wonderful to see the progress that is being made on this project. All the apartment buildings on Osgood Avenue, except 2, from Slater Road to the end of Osgood Avenue are now down.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with anonymous about keeping costs down even if it means going to an out of state printer. Even Mark Bernacki agreed his printing company couldn't do the job at the cost the Tennessee company did.
Hopefully the economy will improve somewhat by the time Pinnacle Heights is completely cleaned up and leveled, new businesses will be lining up to be built on the site. It's extremely convenient to 72 and 84. A corporate park would be great.
ReplyDeleteAm I missing something? If a New Britain business charged twice the price as a Tennessee company, wouldn't be still be better to have the order printed here in town? The New Britain company is paying New Britain property taxes on his building, his printing equipment, his trucks, and even his home and personal cars if he lives in town, and so what if he lives in Newington or Plainville, he is still helping to drive the local economy with his taxes. Then there is the myriad of state taxes his company is paying and the state income tax he is paying on his income. In addition, the local company is employing people who are also paying their taxes locally and spending their wages at local businesses. Of course the Connecticut business is not able to beat or even match the Tennessee company. They have very little for taxes and almost no government intervention in their business in Tennessee. The guy here in New Britain has some of the most restrictive government regulations and some of the most repressive taxes in the country to deal with.
ReplyDeleteWhat does the Tennessee company contribute to the local economy, the city, or even the state?
Apparently Alderman Platocz is the only one on the council that understands basic economics.
Town Crier: what does the Tennessee printer have to do with the development of Pinnacle Heights? Perhaps you would be better off to encourage the state and city to make it much less expensive to do business with local companies.
ReplyDeleteI THINK WE ALL PREFERRED WHEN PHONY PHIL SIGNED HIS NAME TO HIS POSTS, BUT HE HAS BEEN HIDING UNDER "ANONYMOUS" EVER SINCE HE RENEGED ON HIS PROMISE TO SHARE THE AMOUNT OF UNCOLLECTED CAR TAXES. ONE THING IS FOR CERTAIN, PHONY PHIL SHERWACK AND HIS TRULY WORTHLESS HENCHMEN ARE REALLY DOING A NUMBER ON ALDERMAN PLATOCZ SIMPLY BECAUSE HE ASKED A LEGITIMATE QUESTION ABOUT GIVING THE JOB TO A LOCAL CONTRACTOR. WOULD PHONY PHIL AND HIS DISCIPLES BE AS UPSET IF THE JOB WERE GOING TO MR. SPANO, A LONGTIME MEMBER OF THE DEMOCRATIC TOWN COMMITTEE? NO, I WOULD THINK NOT. THE ONLY REASON THEY ARE SO UPSET IS THAT ADAM MADE THE SUGGESTION THAT MIGHT HAVE HAD THE JOB GO TO A REPUBLICAN BUSINESSMAN, EVEN IF HE IS THE ONLY ONE IN TOWN THAT COULD DO THE JOB. ADAM, KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS AND YOU WILL FIND OUT WHAT KIND OF NUT JOBS YOU ARE AFFILIATED WITH! IT IS ABOUT TIME ONE OF YOU 13 DID THE JOB YOU WERE ELECTED TO DO FOR THE PEOPLE, AND STOPPED BEING A PUPPET FOR THE LUNATIC FRINGE THAT RUNS THE PARTY. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK ADAM!

Adam did the rest of us a service without even knowing what he was doing. Because he had the nerve to ask a question on an issue he felt was right for the people of New Britain, and that was whether we could give this little printing job to a city printing company, the other 12 mushroom Dumbocrats on the council went nuts on him because he suggested that giving some work to a Republican business owner was good for the city.
ReplyDeleteWithout even knowing it, he exposed his fellow Democrats for what they really are. Pushing their left wing socialist agenda means more to them than giving a job to a local business owner when that business owner is a member of the other political pary. You Democrats on the council are pathetic. They act as if it is their own personal money they are doaling out and will stop at nothing to keep a Republican business from succeeding, even if he is a taxpayer in the community.
Adam, keep questioning their motives and exposing these socialists for exactly what they are. Remember you don't answer to them, you answer to the people who elected you.
Now that he opposed the group of looney tunes on the council, they will probally find a way to dump Adam Platos in the next election, if not sooner.

John Macnamara will add Adam Platosz to the "Wall of Shame"...That's what he's done to former Democratic Aldermen who had the audacity to question his personal agenda. Hopefully, Adam will stick to his principles.
Adam must have finally found his hot dogs. I think I saw him coming out of Capital Lunch!
ReplyDeleteAre Capital Lunch chairs big enough to hold Catanzaro? Or did he order takeout?
ReplyDeleteYou guys should've left the projects up, it was our hang out, you broke up families & friends you motherfuckers
