A MOMENT TO RECALL!

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

One comment that was made by a member of the Mattabassett Board of Directors, John Valengavich, at the Council meeting this Wednesday during public participation is amazing: “ I know for a fact that he ( Candelori) didn’t cause Colonial Reality to fail.”

What does Valengavich know about Colonial Realty that the general public doesn’t know, beyond the fact that Candelori pled guilty in federal court? The public deserves to know how a partner of the Colonial Reality is not at all responsible for being a part of this financial fiasco where investors lost an estimated $350 million?

Could his motive in making such a statement have anything to do with the fact that in addition to being a "director" for the Mattabasett District, Mr. Valengavich is also the "Treasurer" for the New Britain Democratic Town Committee?

The childish partisan games continue.

  1. In 2003, Mr. Valengavich was the Chair of the NB Board of Finance & Taxation. In that year, he was part of a group of six people trying to organize the workers at the Klingberg Family Centers into Local 1199, Healthcare Workers Union. Who were the other five?
Again, one might be surprised to know if any of the five played a prominent role in Wednesday's Common Council meeting.

    Conecetions???????

  2. I know, I heard that. My first thought was, the problem wasn't the crime at all the problem was they couldn't keep it going! Imagine if the the deck of cards was still be built today we wouldn't have to have these conversations, yet.

Was this the moron from Parkmore Street? He runs the money for the DTC?

Who was the dapper guy from Berlin with the red scarf? I forget his name. He is in love with Candelori too.

  3. Maybe the residents of New Britain and there are a few of us who still have a moral backbone, contact Richard Blumenthal at the state level with these ethics concerns, well I'm sure RB the Bulldog of ethics will be willing to help us. LOL

In early 2003, then Chairman of the New Britain Board of Finance and Taxation was one of three private NB citizens who along with three State Legislators signed and sent a letter to the employees of The Klingberg Family Centers urging the employees to join Local 1199, Health Care Workers Union.
The second paragraph of the letter starts off with "In our work as state legislators..." None of the three I have labeled above as private citizens was a state legislator! Is that a big deal? I don't know but to me it smacks of misrepresentation and impersonation. How about that for quesionable character? Valengavich was one of the four who spoke at public participation -Wed. evening - in favor of Candelori as was another of the three "private citizens' mentioned above that spoke in
favor of Candelori also. So, two out of the four were "impersonators" and the other two were Berlin residents. Another blogger either on one of your posts or in the Herald on line mentioned a law firm that represents both Berlin and Mattabassett. HMMMMM!

  5. I am sure that the First Selectman of Cromwell instructed his Two Mattabassett representatives not to attend the Common Council meeting on 12/9/09.
If he hadn't they probably would have attended and spoke of Mr. Candelori in a positive way.
And why not,of the Four Standing Committes (Finance, Personnel, Engineering and Property Management), Finance abd Personnel are chaired by the Two Cromwell reps, Engineering by a Berlin rep (he is also vice-chairman of the Board, and Property by Ed Sasso of New Britain. This committee probably meets twice a year while the others meet monthly. These committe chairpersons are APPOINTED by Mr. Candelori. So, who is he taking care of ? New Britain pays the lion's share of the expenses and has a majority of reps (7 out of 12) but their riding in the back of bus.

If the New Britain reps on the Mattabassett are as intelligent as the Democrats on the council, you probably need all 7 to come up with a full brain between them, so the other towns need to step forward to do all the meaningful work.

  7. Is Sherwood still shooting his mouth off denigrating 2 business icons like Tomasso and Manafort?

  8. Let's have a fund raiser for Phil Sherwood and send him back to New Hampshire.
By limo with all the perks. Nothing is too good for our Phil.
Of course, this is a one-way trip.

  9. I wonder what little mac thinks of one of his own Democrats constantly exposing their radical agenda like this?

  10. Town Chairman John McNamara reports that petitions for seats on the committee for the 2010-2012 term will be available starting Jan. 13, and must be returned to the registrars by Jan. 27.

THINK MCNAMARA WILL BE CIRCULATING A PETITION TO NOMINATE FRANK SMITH FOR THE COMMITTEE??

I'LL BET HE WOULD GET MORE SIGNATURES THAN ALL THE OTHERS COMBINED!!!!

It is very sad that the DEMOCRATS on our city council members just don't get it.

So the tax payers are the ones to get royally screwed.
