  1. I sincerely hope that Nicholas Mercier will someday be a member of the BOE. Further, I hope that he has a majority of like minded people with him.

The frustration comes when one realizes that they are in the minority because of the less than substantial candidates fielded by the DTC.

  2. I would like to know what they are trying to hide?

Could they be wasting millions of dollars on nonsense like when the Board of Education reportedly has forced taxpayers to pay for catered meals at their meetings? I don't see a caterer serving dinner to the city council at their meetings, so why are these people so special?

Could they be paying for lavish trips to conventions for administrators or even board members all at taxpayer expense?

Could the administration be threatening teacher positions while keeping waste like this in place just because they don't want to lose their perks?

The only way we will ever know for sure is if they stop playing games and release the information, all of the information about where they are spending our money.

Why can't even the members of the city council or even the mayor get the information about where they are spending our money?

What are these bureaucrats trying to hide from the very people who are footing the bill for everything?

Until the Board of Education is more forthcoming with the information, the council should refuse to fund even one dime for their budget. The taxpayers work hard for our money, and we deserve accountability on how OUR money is being spent.

Being a teacher with a baby who will eventually be s student, Nick Mercier would be an ideal member of the board of education.
