  1. Urgent:

My source in city hall this afternoon confirmed that a grievance has been filed against Phil Sherwood by a public works employee.

Alledgedly Phil ran out of gas using the mayors suv this past weekend on the mass pike while driving to NH. The employee confirmed that Sherwood made him bring a gallon of gas. It is purported that he had a college age women in the passenger seat. The grievance was filed this afternoon.

  2. It goes so far beyond ridiculous revenue projections. Tim O'Brien is a corrupt and inept politician - but worse than that, he is a liar. His entire philosophy regarding what society should be, ignores the reality that no matter who you are, you must work within the limitations of the community as a whole. Not just put all sorts of idealistic spending on the city's credit card and leave the bill for the community to pay off. His only allegiance is to himself, and his only motivation is to move on to a state level position where he hopes he can affect more influence.

As Nick clearly states, it is the purpose and the responsibility of The Common Council to protect the interests of the citizens of New Britain. If they will not do what is right for the community as a whole, they should be publicly castigated for their failures.

  3. Maybe he was trying to flee Dictator Dan's communist gas taxes by trying to make it to Massachusetts where he could save about 50 cents a gallon on a fill up?

  4. If the first commenter is accurate, WOW!, I hope the Herald sees this and, Don Stacom of the Courant.

  5. what makes you think the local rag would print something that is not good news for the mayor for whom they seem to worship the very ground upon which he walks?

IF THIS SHOULD BE TRUE IT IS A MISSUSE OF THE MAYOR'S CITY OWNED VEHICHLE THEREFORE, A COURT ACTION SHOULD BE TAKEN AGAINST BOTH OF THEM.

  8. Don't worry, doesn't have to be proved or even sourced...Robin will print it anyway!

  9. Please. Don Stacom or the Courant print a true story against a liberal? Reality check. Where's the Courant's coverage of Benghazi, IRS, AP and Fox reporters? Right. Keep dreaming.

Maybe the $100,000 will run out and the Herald will pick up the pieces.

  10. If the best the RTC can do is nominate Erin Stewart for mayor, then O'Brien will get in again.

If New Britain isn't already the laughing stock of the state, it will be now. God help us.

  11. Update:

City hall was a buzz with rumblings today regarding Mr. Sherwoods actions over memorial day weekend.

I was informed that he has a job offer with the state but have no additional details regarding the grievance that was filed Friday afternoon.

  13. It is about time he bought some new clothes. He usually looks like an unmade bed.

  14. "City hall was a buzz with rumblings today regarding Mr. Sherwoods actions over memorial day weekend."

If the details re the above quote are exposed, both O'Brien and Sherwood could be in deep doodoo!"

It is rumored to involve misuse of a city vehicle with a well known marker plate I.D. Wait and see if the story is squashed.

  15. Does anyone know who the young girl was?

  16. Why Doesn't the New Britain Herald or the Hartford Courant publish the story regarding Sherwood's antics with his calling the Public works to bring to him a gallon of gas for the mayor's city car at the Mass. Turnpike.

Could it be the Public works Grievance filed last Friday afternoon by the union membership will be swept under city hall rugs?

This story has been verified and disclosed by a public official at city hall.

  21. you won't read anything like this in the so called news papers because the left wing radical press will not print anything negative about their fellow radical extremists. it would disrupt their love affair. if a similar incident happened in a Republican administration, it would have been major headlines day after day, except that Republicans are too honorable to have done something so sleazy.
