1. " Not Increasing property
Taxes." Many of the City's tax
payers are complaining that their taxes have been increased substantially. Some estimates that at least 40-45 percent
of the properties did receive an increase.
Additionally, all car taxes received a big bump from the increased mill
rate of 7.49 mills--furthering the Administration's false claim to have not
raised taxes.
2. "Investing in Economic
Development." There was only one project
worthy of even mentioning--a company that moved in from Newington into the
Pinnacle Heights industrial site with tax incentives, on both property and
equipment, meaning that taxpayers are paying them to come to New Britain by
waiving some or all of their taxes. The
second project that will provide at least some jobs is a school being built in
the same development by the State, but with no Pilot tax allocations for the
city of New Britain so the city will provide all services to this location and
receive absolutely nothing in return from the state. The Costco deal is still out there to
materialize with some alleged opposition from some members of the Common
Council, but even if that does survive the extensive opposition from the radical
left, we must remember that this is a project that former Mayor Timothy Stewart
was responsible for even if the O’Brien administration is trying to claim
credit for themselves.
3. "
Investing in Education." If you
call bonding in excess of $5 million for school books when it should be a
direct cost expense and not a bonding cost for our grand children to pay off
investing in education, then it is accurate to say that O’Brien is investing
our great grandchildren’s tax dollars in books that will have long been removed
from service before our great grandchildren are even born.
4." And
lastly." Our Mayor makes claim to
Costco, and the Newington factory deals as being his own idea when in reality
it was all generated by Former Mayor "Tim Stewart." However, the tax incentives were developed by
the Democratic Council leadership and let’s not forget the forgiving of an
estimated 5.5 million tax dollars that HRA contracted and agreed to with a land
record filing simply because they support his liberal left wing agenda, so now
you homeowners and business owners must make up the difference in the name of
“social justice.”
Turning our
city into a socialist empire will be your legacy Mr. Mayor, long after our city
collapses in bankruptcy as a result of your socialist agenda. At least Bertha
Lewis, who came to our city to support your election in front of City Hall, has
the nerve to admit what she is. When will you publicly admit you too are a
socialist?
When Bertha Lewus allows him to sppeak.
ReplyDeleteEveryone I know has an increased property taxes. The question rises? What can we do about his lies. Where is his opponent in this. She should be all over him! YUK!
ReplyDeletedon't you mean when his puppet-master Sherwood allows the dummy to speak?
ReplyDelete6:!7 PM: You are the outlier in this, no one "normal" pays attention to politics in July or comments on blogs about it. The campaign will begin in earnest soon, don't worry.
ReplyDelete7:35 Thanks.
ReplyDeleteNot enough people seem to pay attention to politics in New Britain at any time, isn't that how we got into this disastrous mess in the first place?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure his attraction to communism (and lets not leave his wife out of this - they truly are far, far left) is the whole problem.
ReplyDeleteI think it's also the fact that he's never worked in a position where he's been responsible for, or held accountable for, results.
Or it could be a chicken and the egg scenario, I guess. Afterall, if you've managed to go your entire adult life begging for votes, without actually doing anything....maybe it's only natural that you start thinking about everything in communal ways. Afterall when someone is given something of free, they rarely see any value in the item because they didn't work for it.
7:46: No problem...
ReplyDeleteI vehemently dispute the statement about the mayor never having had any responsibility.
ReplyDeleteAs a grocery bagger, he was responsible for making sure that he didn't put the potatoes on top of the bread or eggs.
That is a high level of responsibility which ultimately qualified him to be the CEO of a city with a $245 million annual budget, isn't it?
Wouldn't any major corporation seek similar qualities in their CEO?
you don't understand how the Democratic party works.
ReplyDeleteFailure is a resume enhancement.
So are sex scandals.
And drunk driving killing girls in your back seat.

ReplyDeleteDamn!
I almost spit my milk outa my nose!
When you write about No' Brien again, please don't show his picture. It's not funny anymore.
ReplyDeleteSeeing his picture is enough to make me lose my lunch. What a clown.
ReplyDeleteIs it possible that one man could be as stupid as he appears in this photo?
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine what bozo the dumbbell in chief will find now to carry his water.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would trust this yo-yo to bag my groceries. I am confident that if I saw him working as a bagger in the grocery line, I would move to the next line.
ReplyDeleteIs little Timmy afraid to admit who he is, or is he still waiting for the permission slip from Sherwood allowing him to speak?
ReplyDeleteSurfed in from the Obama article and then started reading some of this other stuff. What is wrong with the people in your state? Some of these articles are truly disturbing.
ReplyDeleteUnder these commies don't you mean "SERF" as in serfdom?
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness.... that is one heck of an impressive and truth filled article.
