We should all be proud to have such a distinguished Chief of Police right here in little old New Britain!

To have a chief of this caliber stay here for his entire career is truly a tribute to Chief Gagliardi's dedication to our city.

Most chiefs would have used New Britain as a stepping stone to move on to bigger and better career moves. The fact that he stayed here for so long, demonstrates that he cares about New Britain.

Chief Gagliardi's dedication to the City of New Britain and his unquestionable and passionate stewardship as Chief of Police provide the City's municipal employees with a role model as to how to approach their jobs.

WEEL DONE, CHIEF!

Gagliardi has served in the department for 38 years and was officially made chief in March 2006. Prior to that he served as interim chief for 13 months and was a deputy chief for 10 years. He also has served as a patrol officer, detective, youth bureau supervisor, lieutenant and captain.

Having grown up in New Britain and having dealt with Chief Gagliardi as a young man on the wrong side of the law I think that it is very important to note that through out his career Mr. Gagliardi has treated ALL citizens of with respect and dignity.

A sign of a true leader.
