NEW BRITAIN — In a landslide, New Britain Sate Rep. Timothy O’Brien (24th District) defeated Assistant Majority Leader Paul Catanzaro in Tuesday’s mayoral primary by 1776 to 752 the gaffney voting district was not tabulated by press time.

Tuesday’s votes for the first Democratic primary for mayor since 1995, were unofficial.

With his wife Rhona by his side and surrounded by 100 supporters at his headquarters at the Whinstone Tavern at Stanley Golf Course, O’Brien thanked his supporters. Among those who joined O’Brien were most of the city’s Democratic aldermen.

In the Republican Fourth Ward primary, candidates Don Naples and Daniel Davis, the endorsed Republican candidates were the two winners for Ward 4 New Britain Primary.

But you wouldn't know anything about that by reading The Herald, because it does provide balanced coverage about Town News Elections.

Although he didn't win in the primary, It's no surprise that Guiness will attend the Council meetings, voicing his opinions.
