Former Senator Thomas Bozek, according to informed sources at city hall, has turned in enough signatures to qualify his run for O'Brien's vacant legislative seat.
He will face off against the two announced candidates Rick Lopes [ D ] and Peter Steele [ R ].

Bozek would be a great choice over the appointee of little mack, but then again so would Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and even Joe Shits the Rag Man.
Former state Senator Tom Bozek served as an alderman and majority leader before becoming state senator for the 6th District in 1994. He went on to win four consecutive terms, but couldn't get Democrats to stand behind him for another run in 2002. He was known for reviewing New Britain's social service programs and New Britain's over extended public housing programs, and several times sided with Republican Gov. John G. Rowland when voting on controversial issues.
I guess Bozek wants to go down in history as the spoiler. He will do nothing other than to assure victory for the radical liberal candidate by taking conservative votes away from the Republican.
Way to go Mr. Spoiler!

As is his wont, Tom get's a bug in his bonnet and doesn't let go. On John Rowland's radio show recently, Tom stated that the Busway would create more public housing. Everyone knows that any mention of housing (public /low income/multi family, etc) causes Tom to react as though someone was trying to get him to drink bleach. Also, John Rowland has indicated he is against the Busway.
So, Rowland found Tom to light up his program. Tom's assertion that the Busway will create public housing is far fetched. Yes, it is hoped that along the Busway route, small businesses may sprout, especially near the stops. Yes, some housing may be built but nobody has said anything about public housing projects. Get off of that subject, Tom. And, remember, the Busway has been approved !
Finally, Tom, if one of your opponents lines up on a different side of an issue than you (e.g., the Busway), that's their right. How about the content of their demonstrated character in previous positions they have held?

IN A NUT SHELL, WHAT YOU ARE SAYING IS THAT BOZEK ALWAYS DID WHAT WAS GOOD FOR THE TAXPAYERS--WHETHER OR NOT RADICAL EXTREMIST LIBERALS LIKED IT OR NOT.
Bozek has the IQ of a rabid squirrel. His entry into this race almost guarantees a victory for the liberals. Is that what you really want Tom? Do every conservative voter a favor and GTFO! He is a man with serious mental problems so why is it that we should even consider him for this seat? I bet he made a deal with the dems just like Lucien did in the mayoral race. Any R that signed his petition should be excommunicated from the party!

There is a bit too much publi housing. Best public housing is for Senior Citizens.
The busway is a waste of money..Not enough passengers would use it to make it worth the cost.
