NEW BRITAIN'S MAYOR, TIM O'BRIEN, ALLOWED HIS SWEARING IN TO OCCUR WITH THREE FELLOW CANDIDATES WITH UN-PAID TAXES OWED TO CITY.

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

Sadly, The mayor allowed three of his fellow candidates to become part of his administration, while owing the city taxes.

The now new Alderman RHA Sheen Brown [ D ] owing the largest amount a sum of $5,391.56 together with his wife Briggette at the 18 union Street address in the city and an additional sum of $1,262.37 at their 6 Cidermill Ct. address.

Constable James Rathbun [ D ] a sum of $247.30

Constable Peter Spano [ D ] a sum of $777.33

Checking with the tax collector's office at 9:15 A. M. today verified that the aforementioned balances are still outstanding.

These figures were reported ,as being owed to the city, on November 17th. on this blog.

Now in tonight's on line edition of the Hartford Courant it is reporting statements made by the mayor attempting to blame his predecessor, similar to President Obama's blaming Bush, for all the city's ills.

With all prior budgets being approved by a Democratic majority council.

  1. Is there any reason why we cannot deduct their taxes from the money they earn as alderman or constables? Makes sense to me.

I realize that it is the principal that counts. These free loaders have no principals.

Pete Spano may have an issue with his taxes. He has the means to pay.

  2. The only issue I can think of is the pattern of Democrats not paying their taxes while expecting the rest of us to.

  3. There are processes and procedures in place to collect taxes as well as water and sewer. I assume both departments in our City who are in charge of collecting them are following these procedures. Have you checked?

Has our new city Attorney, John King, started removal proceedings against Alderman Brown, due to his conflict of interest appearance, when deciding the city's new budget tax rate as a city Alderman that hasn't paid nearly $7,000.00 of back taxes that he and if wife owes our city?

  5. Some people who do not pay taxes have to go through the process of foreclosure. Why isn't that being done??

COULD IT BE BECAUSE THEY ARE ELECTED OFFICIALS, SO THEY ARE AMONG THE "UNTOUCHABLES"?

  7. The Mrs. is now a Police Commissioner. Police enforce non-payment of vehicle taxes by booting scofflaws. This is just unbelievable.....
