Frank:

If you want to a concise and well constructed letter, read Police Commission Chairman, Mike Wanik's letter in todays Herald. Mike gives good examples of why the Herald, under the leadership of Mark Levy, has become little more than a tabloid piece of garbage. And with a reporter like Rick Guinness handling city hall "news" that is fed to him like pap by Sherwack, Goratuna, Trueworthless and Larry the Lip things at the Herald will not get better unless Schroeder does some house cleaning.

Mr. Schroeder a former Editor of Long Island's Newsday which had news for every area of towns the newspaper covered.

I looking forward to that former editor as the new owner of these two papers to inject the same type of news service that he provided his Long Island readers.

Deal to buy paper may be signed Monday

The word around the paper is that the deal to sell The Bristol Press, New Britain Herald and three weeklies to Mike Schroeder and his silent partner should be finalized on Monday.

Let's hope the Journal Register Co., the current owner, doesn't find a way to muck it up.
