NBDTC Chair a Fabricator?

This month’s letter from the DTC Chairman included an attack against Mayor Stewart who had ordered a freeze on wages at the start of her administration stating that she had given two of her aids a $10,000 annual raise.

I posted this information on FSSNB.

City hall sources vehemently denies that this ever occurred therefore, I have only one question for Mr. John McNamara:

Do your believe in your comments as you fabricate it?

The DTC membership should remove you from your pedestal.

Recent media interview held with Mayor Stewart where she has indicated selling some watershed parcels.
Some six months or so ago I had recommended doing the same in Burlington while recalling many years ago of being involved in building the bridge to “nowhere as it was referred too back then.”   During that construction project I couldn’t help noticing the mass amount of acreage being allowed to be idle that could be put to better use.
When making my suggested to sell that acreage I was immediately attacked by members of both parties indicating that was a wrong step to take by New Britain.
I tip my hat to Erin who is now contemplating doing just that in order to place New Britain’s financial crises back in order.
Although I do disagree with the leasing of our city’s parking facilities that she is also thinking to doing.
We all know that she is facing one of the hardest times, in our history as Mayor, and wish her the best in her finding the right solutions for the city we all love.

Mayor Erin’s Dilemma.

Since her declaration of a wage freeze, at the start of her new administration, she reportedly has ignored this freeze according to John McNamara, Democratic Town Committee Chairperson, “claiming that she has giving two $10,000 pay raises to two of her aides in her Mayoral office.”

Governor Malloy Signs Bill to Increase Minimum wage Bill

Café Beauregard in New Britain was the location for the signage of this bill that will force not only the City of New Britain, but many towns and city budgets throughout our state, of not being able to afford to hire High School students for summer work.
The governor is just satisfying the President’s similar order which forces state businesses to not only cope with this added labor cost but also the need to address the changes in workman’s compensation additional cost.  They must also  consider higher cost for the supplies and products they sell.
The cost to operate within the State of Connecticut is spiraling out of control causing many business owners to move their operations out of state.
The Governor has announced that his running again but may find there might be no one left in the state to vote for him.

"TANS" Prevents State Taxover Of New Britain's Finances

“Tans” financial report to the city’s common council membership recommendations in order to prevent the state takeover of New Britain’s financial take over as occurred to Waterbury and Bridgeport.

After hours of questioning the president pro tem, Alderman Trueworhty, announced to alert his Democratic followers that he was not going to vote for this as warning to them how they should vote.   Thank God some Democrats ignored their leader’s nitice and the safety net was passed with.   His warning was followed with Aldermen Platosz, DeFronzo and Trueworthy’s vote.

These three should be remembered for not representing the best interest of the city, as their Oath of office dictates, and should be removed from their office of representing the city on the next election day.

They even ignored the elimination of a bond for four million dollars for the repairing two city swimming pools for which I recommend the Mayor’s being justified to eradicate.   Alderman Robert Smedley effectively pointed out “ if we were given the pools repair for free we do not have the money to operate them.”

I totally agree with a recent comment made by Alderman Lois Salvio “What a scary thought when one realizes that The President Pro Tem takes over as Mayor if the Mayor is incapacitated.

CAIRO (AP) — A court in Egypt on Monday sentenced to death 529 supporters of ousted Islamist President Mohammed Morsi on charges of murdering a policeman and attacking police, convicting them after only two sessions in one of the largest mass trials in the country in decades.

The verdicts are subject to appeal and would likely be overturned, rights lawyers said. But they said the swiftness and harshness of the rulings on such a large scale underlined the extent to which Egypt's courts have been politicized and due process has been ignored amid a sweeping crackdown on Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood supporters since the military removed the post.

Netanyahu Allocates Almost $3 Billion for Iran Attack

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon have reportedly ordered the military to continue preparing for a possible strike on Iran's nuclear facilities.

Three Knesset members who were present at Knesset joint committee hearings on Israel Defense Forces plans said that at least 10 billion shekels ($2.89 billion) of the defense budget would be allocated this year for preparations for the strike on Iran, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported.

After an interim accord between Iran and six world powers was reached, Netanyahu stressed that Israel will not consider itself bound by it. Netanyahu in fact is again making implied threats about a possible unilateral Israeli strike.

"My friends, I believe that letting Iran enrich uranium would open up the floodgates," Netanyahu said at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee conference in Washington earlier this month. "That must not happen. And we will make sure it does not happen."

Ya'alon said in a recent speech at Tel Aviv University that he is now likely to back a unilateral strike on Iran in light of his assessment that the Obama administration will not do so, according to Haaretz.

"We think the United States should be the one leading the campaign against Iran," he said. "But the U.S. has entered talks with them and unfortunately, in the haggling in the Persian bazaar, the Iranians were better.

"Therefore on this matter we have to behave as though we have nobody to look out for us but ourselves."

The second round of nuclear talks opened in Vienna on Tuesday with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in attendance along with senior diplomats from the six powers — the United States, United Kingdom, France, Russia, China, and Germany.

Zarif wrote in an opinion piece for Britain's Financial Times that the six powers have agreed to seek a "mutually acceptable agreement" after realizing that "coercion, pressure and sanctions only result in more centrifuges, more resentment and deeper mistrust."

Financial Audit Prevents State Takeover Of New Britain's Finances

Over the past two weeks, Mayor Stewart released information stating that an official audit of the City’s financial situation revealed that the City was in a financial crisis, to wit, a deficit of approximately $23.4 million. In O’Brien’s 2013-2014 Budget projected revenues from all sources would not be enough to pay the City’s bills through June 30, 2014. Also, the City was close to reaching its bonding cap - our ability to sell our debt - by only $13 million, a red flag to our bond rating agencies. The bond rating agency might  lower our rating by five categories. In addition, if New Britain could not find a way to bring its fiscal house in order, the City was facing a State takeover of the City’s finances.

What to do? Mayor Stewart and her financial advisors put together a plan to rescind $23.4 million dollars worth of the bonded indebtedness and purchase $25 million worth of Tax Anticipation Notes (TANs). The 2013-2014 Budget under which the City is currently struggling was put forward by then Mayor O’Brien and approved by the Common Council. With one exception, Alderman Carlo Carlozzi (D), the 12 other Council Democrats voted to approve that budget. In fact, Herald Staff Writer, Robert Storace, in writing profiles of all Council candidates for the 11/5/13 municipal showed that 12 out of the 13 Democrats then on the Council praised O’Brien’s 2013-2014 Budget. Nine of those Democrats are still on the Council. It requires a two thirds yes vote (10) of the Council to approve bonding measures.

When the dust cleared Wednesday night, only a little more than 2/3 of the bond rescissions had been approved - one would have thought all would be approved to save the City. Fortunately, the vote to purchase the $25 million worth of TANs was approved. Had the TANs purchase been denied, the State would have taken over the City.  Keeping that in mind New Britain taxpayers must realize that the three irresponsible votes cast against buying the TANs were: Alderman and Council President Pro Tem Michael Trueworthy (D), Alderman David DeFronzo (D) and Alderman and Assistant Majority Leader Adam Platosz (D). What a scary thought when one realizes that The President Pro Tem takes over as Mayor if the Mayor is incapacitated.

Communism Versus Freedom

The State of Texas added 21,100 private sector jobs during the month of February, the very same month that Connecticut lost 10,500 jobs.  The bottom line is that Connecticut is spiraling out of control in collapse at the hands of a communist dictator while freedom is prospering in the Great State of Texas.  As Governor Rick Perry so eloquently described it in his recent speech to CPAC, our nation is divided between red states that are experiencing record prosperity and the blue states that are all in financial ruin at the hands of Democrats.  Just maybe we do need a President like Governor Rick Perry so he can spread the huge success of Texas to the rest of the nation.  While Texas is rated number one place to own a business and one of the best places to live, work, and retire, Connecticut is rated absolute last in virtually every category. This is what Democratic rule has turned Connecticut into--one of the worst places in the nation to live, work or retire.  Thank you Danny Boy Malloy for doing your best to destroy our once great state!

New Britain Mayor: 'We Are Well Beyond Mere Belt-Tightening' -

Why I Enjoy Retirement

What is it like to be a teacher? One man’s opinion. Teaching, as a profession, it’s all I’ve ever known. I had dreams of doing other things but those were just that, dreams. Growing up in the 40s, the dreams of many were dashed. Please realize that these are simply my feelings and that I’m not complaining. As I look back on my career in teaching, I am very satisfied with what teaching did for me.

For me, I discovered that most of the time, my students were my teachers. For many of my students, I marveled at their intellect, they challenged me to learn more. For the troubled students that gave me fits, they challenged me to understand student differences. I realized very soon that I loved them all. Again, my students became my teachers.

Having grown up in the ‘4os and 50’s, scientific knowledge was limited compared to the present. How surprising it was to me when one of my Biology students would explain to me in 1961 that Watson and Crick had elucidated the structure of DNA in 1953. I’ll bet that some of my students of 60 years ago can still explain photosynthesis and its importance to all life on earth.

In graduate school, as a Masters Degree Student, I was proud of the science education that had been provided for me by the professors at TCC (now CCSU). Teachers must always be learners and I, as have many others, received more graduate degrees since then.

In general, teachers today get a bad rap. Do teachers deserve criticism? Certainly! Please don’t be one of those that criticizes teachers for things for which they are not responsible.  Remember, teachers didn’t raise your child

New Britain's Financial Crisis

Mayor Erin Stewart called state of the city financial situation in a Crisis in her state of the City address.   She received constant resistance form the Democratic leadership for reducing the million dollars of Bonding she was advised to so by the bonding advisors hired by the city’s common council.
With the persistence of Aldermen Robert Smedley, Jamie Giantonio, Wilfredo Pabon, Louis Salvio, Daniel Salerno,  Don Naples and Carlo Carlozzi, Jr. fighting against the democratic leadership lead by Michael Trueworhty together with his Democratic minions with their defeatus approach against the Mayor’s attempt to place the city back onto the right track.
With all the nerve in the world Alderman Trueworhty rose to warn that he will oppose the vital vote that would cause a State takeover of the city’s finances like occurred to Bridgeport and Waterbury as though he was warning his followers to do the same. So they followed with Aldermen DeFronzo, Platosz, voting with Trueworthy and not acting in the best interest of the city that their oath dictates for them to act.
These Democrats need to be replaced by the voters in the next election however, the mayor should exercise her veto powers to apposed the Democratic retention of their favorite four million bond for the Chesley park and Washington park swimming pools along with any other bonds they retained in order to place our financial crises in its right order as Alderman Giantonio stated “ it will gives us the time to work out to resolve our problems.”

Obama’s Titanic

Obamacare is sinking like the “titanic” as the number one issue in the voters’ minds.    However, the real issue that should be first is the “economy and jobs” but the voters’ refuse to let the government take away one’s ability to choose therefore, the care act remains the number one issue in the up-coming mid-term elections.

Look at the Connecticut hospitals having to lay off 1400 employees, Statewide,  because the reduction of federal rates being paid by the Obamacare plan.

This is the only the beginning of the Iceberg that hit the “titanic.”   More to follow.

And will discourage any businesses thinking of moving to New Britain that our Mayor is fighting so hard to attract to our city.

Their trying to earn enough money to pay for their semester tuition has been dampened by Trueworthy's Resolution.

“A State with No Republicans!"

Very interesting... Makes ya wanna move there, doesn't it?

(Not!) A wonderful state with zero Republicans - The State

of Illinois.

Some interesting data on the 'state' of Illinois ... There

are more people on welfare in Illinois than there are people

working.  Chicago pays the highest wages to teachers than

anywhere else in the U.S. averaging $110,000/year.  Their

pensions average 80-90% of their income.

Wow, are Illinois and Chicago great or what?  Be sure to

read till the end.  I've never heard it explained better.

Perhaps the U.S. should pull out of Chicago?  Body count:

In the last six months, 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago.

221 killed in Iraq; AND Chicago has one of the

strictest gun laws in the entire US.

Here's the Chicago chain of command: President: Barack

Hussein Obama; Senator: Dick Durbin; House Representative:

Jesse Jackson Jr.; Governor: Pat Quinn; House leader: Mike

Madigan 7 Atty. Gen.: Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike); Mayor:

Rahm Emanuel; The leadership in Illinois - all Democrats.

Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago.  Of course, they're

all blaming each other. Can't blame Republicans; there

aren't any!  Chicago school system rated one of the worst

in the country.  Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any!

State pension fund $78 Billion in debt, worst in country.

Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any! Cook County

(Chicago) sales tax 10.25% highest in country.  Can't blame

Republicans; there aren't any!

This is the political culture that Obama comes from in

Illinois.  And he is going to 'fix' Washington politics

for us? George Ryan is no longer Governor, he is in prison.

He was replaced by Rob Blagojevich who is, that's right,

also in prison. And Representative Jesse Jackson Jr.

resigned, .. and that's right, he and his wife both are in

prison also. The Land of Lincoln, where our Governors and

Representatives make our license plates.  As long as they

keep providing entitlements to the population of Chicago,

nothing is going to change, except the state will go broke

before the country does.

"Anybody who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by

letting the Government take care of him better take a

closer look at the American Indian."  Dont forget

Detroit, another great example of a Democratic empire

PART 2  Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA - may soon have plenty of new residents!

Oklahoma is the only state that Obama did not win even

one county in the last election...  While everyone is

focusing on Arizona’s new law, look what Oklahoma has

been doing!!!

An update from Oklahoma: Oklahoma law passed, 37 to 9

an amendment to place the Ten Commandments on the front

entrance to the state capitol. The feds in D.C., along with

the ACLU, said it would be a mistake. Hey this is a

conservative state, based on Christian values... HB 1330

Guess what... Oklahoma did it anyway.

Oklahoma recently passed a law in the state to incarcerate

all illegal immigrants, and ship them back to where they

came from unless they want to get a green card and become

an American citizen. They all scattered. HB 1804. This was

against the advice of the Federal Government, and the

ACLU, they said it would be a mistake.

Guess what... Oklahoma did it anyway.

Recently we passed a law to include DNA samples from any

and all illegal's to the Oklahoma database, for criminal

investigative purposes. Pelosi said it was unconstitutional

SB 1102  Guess what... Oklahoma did it anyway.

Several weeks ago, we passed a law, declaring Oklahoma

as a Sovereign state, not under the Federal Government

directives. Joining Texas, Montana and Utah as the only

states to do so. More states are likely to follow: Louisiana,

Alabama, Georgia, Carolina's, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas,

West Virginia, Mississippi and Florida. Save your

confederate money, it appears the South is about to

rise up once again. HJR 1003

The federal Government has made bold steps to take away

our guns. Oklahoma, a week ago, passed a law confirming

people in this state have the right to bear arms and

transport them in their vehicles.  I'm sure that was a

setback for the criminals The Liberals didn't like it --

But.... Guess what... Oklahoma did it anyway.

Just this month, the state has voted and passed a law

that ALL driver’s license exams will be printed in English,

and only English, and no other language. They have been

called racist for doing this, but the fact is that ALL of

the road signs are in English only. If you want to drive in

Oklahoma, you must read and write English. Really simple.

By the way, the Liberals don't like any of this either

Guess what... who cares...  Oklahoma is doing it anyway.

If you like it, pass it on, if you don't then delete it...

Thanks.  Guess what the people I'm sending this to, will

send it on. Well, at least the ones who love and believe

in freedom will.  In God We Trust
