Mike Peters truly was a good mayor, making improvements to the city of Hartford...it's my opinion he may have been a role model for Mayor Stewart, who is getting much done for New Britain, which should have been done years ago!!

Mayor Mike was the last of Hartford's weak mayors before a charter revision created a strong mayor form of government. Considering that Mike Peters was given very little authority as Mayor, he did a remarkable job with what he had to work with. Imagine what he might have been able to accomplish had he been given the authority to do more?
Many of us enjoyed watching his "Mayor Mike's Minutes" on local television. For anyone that never saw one, they were one minute commercials marketing Hartford as a desirable place to visit. You never knew from day to day where in Hartford Mayor Mike's minute would be featured from. Part of the entertainment value was waiting to see where in Hartford Mike would appear each day.
There is no question that Mayor Mike will be truly missed by many.
Rest in Peace Mayor Mike.
