It was a huge mistake for the BOE to adopt the Kurtz/Pianka school budget for next school year, UNANIMOUSLY! THAT WAS A UNANIMOUS AND very bad joke and slap in the face to NB taxpayers. And to use the excuse that the BOE doesn't yet know what the state will give to the city! Yes they do! The state will be giving everyone less aid! And this is after Beloin-Saavedra says "the city is strapped and can't afford any more!"
Add this..., over two hundred fewer kids means the BOE should have reduced the budget by over $2 million to start with! What a bunch of dunderheads. And the BOE, in approving this fiasco of a budget also says OK to a new Special Ed. Dept. Head for over $123, 000 and one "autistic teacher" for over $70K. These people have no shame. What laggards. These are the public servants we feed before every BOE meeting. Bon appetit!
