CONFLICT CITY?

In addition to Alderman Paul Catanzaro’s triple conflict of interest we currently have two other alderpersons that have the similar conflicts working for a city agency and serving on the city’s common council such has Catanzaro is.

There are also three more Alderpersons that have an apparent conflict as well making it a total of six questionable Alderpersons.

The City’s Ethics commission was initially contacted some four years ago regarding Catanzaro’s conflict and was hesitant to review this matter.

And with their recent action this ethics commission undertook the Catanzaro conflicts while neglecting his being a city employee and a members of the common council conflicts that has been well publicized.

His supervisor is not able to demand any particular changes in his method of work habits since the bosses’ boss is truly the member of the common council [Catanzaro] and that same conflict applies to the other two alderpersons currently serving on the common council.

It would be appropriate to suggest changing the city’s motto from the “Hardware City” to the “Conflict City”.

Unfortunately, that is the image with their behavior that our elected officials of the council have created for our city to be known as.

Yes; we do have a chance to resolve this issue, as voters, on November’s ballot this year.

And when faced with a chance to do something within his own party, Ald Sherwood chose to attack Ald Salvio, who highlighted the conflicts, rather than asking for his colleagues to resign or fix the conflicts.

So much for ethics reform. You don't need to put words in the city laws. Hartford has ethics language in their laws and Perez still acts unethical.

It's said but correctable. Elect ethical people.

Sounds more like corruption city. Sherwood is the biggest of all the hypocrites, proclaiming to be the czar of ethics, but only when it might involve a Republican. The Dumbocrats are free to perpetuate all the corruption and not a peep out of the phony.

Sherwood, a hypocrite? I don't think so! He's as honest as the month of February is the longest month of the year...give him a break!!

You can always tell if Sherwood is lying, just look to see if his lips are moving!
