We went down this road just a few months ago under the Bush administration. How did that one work out? yup. $80+ Billion MISSING. NO OVERSIGHT. Bank management got BILLIONS in bonuses!
What is different now? The liberals got THEIR guy in? So what.
Now we are talking ANOTHER TRILLION dollars. This has got to stop!
Haste makes waste.
Why wasn't ANY conservative ideas put in the plan (income tax CUTS, capital gains CUTS, spending CUTS)?
These would IMMEDIATELY sky rocket the stock market. Higher stock portfolios = higher discretionary spending = people buying again.
This isn't rocket science. Pres Kennedy, Reagan, and Bush cut these taxes and the federal treasury GREW!
What happened to PAYGO? Pelosi loved sticking it to Bush. Again, what happened?
The wolves are guarding the hen house. As I listen to the hardsell on TV tonight all I hear is double talk. The simple truth is that the goverment spends more than it makes. We should rightfully be wary of plans for the goverment to spend $1,000,000,000.00 dollars. Where will the money come from. Why are people who ask being ignored. We should invest in ways to close the gap of what we spend with what we earn. It is federal income tax time again. Lets remove the smoke and mirrors of the current tax system. Lets remove the smoke and mirrors of spending bills. It was a shell game that got us here.

According to Obama, FDR saved the country with his stimulus packages, by apparently Mr. Obama learned history backwards. FDR's own Treasury Secretary was quoted as saying that the more we spent money, the worse the depression got. It was WWII that ultimately saved the country after FDR nearly destroyed it with all his socialist programs.
FDR has to have been one of the worst presidents in history, almost as bad as Jimmy Carter, another socialist that left double digit unemployment and double digit inflation for Ronald Reagan to fix.
This time it was the mere threat of Obama winning the election that devastated the economy. On October 11th, the market was at an all time high, because at the time, John McCain was leading in the polls. As soon as it became known that Obama was in the lead, the market crashed and has not rebound much since. Just the threat of this guy taking over the country caused foreign investors to withdraw billions in investments from the US.
Now he plans to ram through a wasteful spending bill that even the Congrssional Budget Office has described as a disaster that has little to no chance of working.
Those who don't learn from history are destined to repeat it.
Obama finally said something I agree with. Obama during his speech tonight promised to fire every bad teacher in the country. It is about time we break that damn teacher's union, and it is great to hear that the new President supports busting the teacher's union and will lead the fight to eliminate teachers that are not performing.
Maybe we could get him to begin his teacher eliminations in New Britain? I understand there are many teachers who would meet Obama's definition of a bad teacher right here in New Britain! The children would be better off if these lazy fat cats were out of the classroom forever. Thank you Preisdent Obama!
Our children and grandchildren will pay for this! Is it considered child abuse???
You haven't seen anything yet. Obama has $2 trillion planned for more bailouts. He is just waiting until his wasteful spending bill passes before he moves on to his next trillion dollar spending plan. He told the Republican Congressmen during their caucus he had 3 of them he was going to pass all in a row.
The irony of the entire situation is that history shows, the more the government spends, the worse the economy will get and the more layoffs companies will have, so get ready for a devastating economy thanks to the tax and spend Dumbocrats.
