Anonymous said...: As Businesses flee New York due to insane tax increases, Residents of Connecticut are facing tax increases as well. The Democrat backed state budget proposal has the potential to devastate city budgets forcing struggling municipalities (particularly urban cities like New Haven, Waterbury, Hartford and New Britain) to raise property taxes on its citizens at a particularly difficult time. With all the talk of bipartisanship, hope and change it seems that Connecticut’s state democratic legislators haven’t received the memo.

Appropriations Committee Chair, Geragosian, State Rep. Don Defronzo and their democratic allies (including potential New Britain Mayoral candidate Tim O'Brien) Have Instead proposed a budget with an intent to minimalize the well liked Gov. of Connecticut Jodi Rell as well as Republican members of the state legislature and municipal heads such as the Popular Mayor of New Britain Timothy Stewart.

At a time when President Obama and Democratic members of the U.S Congress such as Rep. Chris Murphy and Senator Chris Dodd claim to be pouring funds into Cities and Towns, Vice President Biden promising funds for Teachers and Police Officers, Tim O’Brien claiming to be working on funds for clean energy for municipalities it seems disingenuous for Appropriations Committee Chair, Geragosian to attempt to suggest Gov. Rell and Mayor Stewart should not be disappointed that funds are in fact being cut.

As budgets are finalized citizens need to look at what was promised during campaigning last November. How our delegates promised that middle class taxpayers would not be burdened with the costs of the socialist government controlled programs.; April 9, 2009 at 8:20 AM

Liberals laugh off the "rich" guys and expect the rest of us to pick up the tab. Sorry, not here.
