Hartford Joins more than 600 National Tea Parties
More than 4,000 people gathered today at the Connecticut State Capitol, joining more than 600 protests in cities across the country.
The tea parties are in protest of the out of control spending by the federal, state and yes even local governments—ridiculous out of control spending of money that we just can’t afford to spend. Pictured is Chris Cassone performing his new song “Take Our Country Back” which he wrote after being inspired by Glenn Beck’s 912 Project. One thing was certain from the crowd today: that the movement to take back control of our country is alive and well, and growing stronger every day.
For example, Susan Kniep, President of the Federation of Connecticut Taxpayers Associations spoke on the need to become more active at all levels of government. She urged everyone to attend their local council meetings and get involved and speak out when the town councils are trying to ram through those municipal budgets, especially when they are trying to increase municipal spending and raise your taxes! The budget process is currently underway here in New Britain, so what better time could there be to get involved?

The best sign I saw at the tea party said:
If you think health care is expensive now, wait until you see how much it costs when it is free!
I was there today during my lunch break. There were many young people there with families. Conservatives? Maybe. Realists? Definitely. The future taxpayers have a burden that is unacceptable and unsustainable.
Cut services. Give a hand up, not a hand out. Cut out the union hostage takers.
Let's (those of us who pay the bills)take back our government from the left the next election and put it in the center where it belongs.
It's all about balance.

Pay attention, New Britain Aldermen. 100's of thousands of Americans turned out in tea parties from coast to coast to let their government know they are mad as hell, and are not going to take it anymore. It is your turn hear from America on November 3rd!
Please tell me when Susan Roesgen will be fired and replaced by a non-partisan field reporter. OOPS! I almost forgot. CNN will always be the network of sneering and preening reporters who think they know what is best for me.
Axelrod a top adviser to the President on CBS' Face the Nation to day 4-19 expressed his dissatisfaction with those have disaffected with the government and the Obama administration
Susan Kniep, President of the Federation of Connecticut Taxpayers Organization (FCTO), at the Tea Party in Hartford CT explained that American taxpayers and their children will be burdened with $10.7 trillion in debt, which translates to $36,000 for every man, woman, and child in the U.S.
She said the interest payments of this debt alone is $500 billion for one year.
In addition Kniep said that Connecticut taxpayers pay one of the highest property taxes in the nation, second only to New Jersey.
“The only recourse taxpayer have is to unite in solidarity to keep what little we have left as more economic storms brew on the horizon,” Kniep said.
In closing she encouraged the crowd to get involved at the local level and speak out at town council meetings.
