Frank, I keep hearing from the liberals in town that you are a "nobody" and that no one is reading your blog. If that is true, why is it that the New Britain Herald and The Hartford Courant keep reprinting your stories, or using information from your stories as the basis for stories of their own.
You reported on this particular story two days before this Herald report. The more the liberals complain, the more effective you are being.
It is just like the tax tea parties on Wednesday. Every liberal media outlet is whining and complaining about the parties. The Democrats are so desperate that they dusted off a loser like Geraldine Ferraro who claimed that there were no more than 50 people at any rally and that Fox news took multiple pictures of the same 50 people to make the parties look bigger.
I personally stood among 4,000 to 5,000 people at the Hartford rally and to say that there were no more than 50 people shows how much in denial the liberals really are about the rising revolt against socialism in this country. This movement grows more with each passing day!
Keep up the good work, because the more the liberals in town denounce you, the more we know you are being effective. You are in good company. Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, and now Glenn Beck all receive the same type of criticisms everyday.
The New Britain Herald should be commended for its honest reporting, because the liberal media would cover up such a story because it negatively impacts their revered Democrats. This is evidence that The Herald is becoming a fair and balanced news source and that as a result should become more successful than the majority of liberal newspapers that are teetering on bankruptcy. The New Britain Herald gained much respect with me due to this one story.
On 04/16/09 New Britain Tax Officials attributed delinquent motor vehicle taxes of four members of NB Common Council...
$248.48 - Alderman Paul Catanzaro (D).
$401.23 - Alderwomen Tonilynn Collins (D).
$610.19 - Alderman Roy Centeno (D).
$1,014.38 - Alderwomen Lori Rocha (D).
Although Centeno came in third in the amount owed on motor vehicle taxes, he jumped to first place when a $1,756.64 NB delinquent Real Estate tax bill was added.
Alderman Phil Sherwood, who did not owe any back taxes, recently put forward a city resolution to make the municipal ethics code stronger and also testified at the State Capitol in Hartford on ethics reform.
The time as arrived for Spazeboy to post Paul Catanzaro, Tonilynn Collins, Roy Centeno and Lori Rocha on the Wall of Shame.
For the record, Mr. Beau Anderson aka Spazeboy and Beau’s Blog is associated with Phil Sherwood’s outfit the Connecticut Citizens Action Group (CCAG) based in Hartford CT.
Mr. Bernacki, How about submitting an ordinance that requires that if an elected official is delinquent on city taxes, that the delinquent payment must be deducted from his city paycheck for his elected position. Although 3 of these individuals also work for the city and receive a huge salary and excellent benefits package, I understand you can't deduct taxes from their pay checks from their jobs, mainly because of union issues. There should be no reason why you can't withhold an elected official's pay check due to unpaid taxes owed by that official, especially when that official swore an oath to uphold the law.
HARTFORD, CT - Connecticut Citizen Action Group (CCAG) announced the hiring of Beau Anderson--a local political blogger better known as Spazeboy--as the group's online organizer.
In addition to establishing a blog for CCAG and Health Care for All (HCFA) Beau Anderson will be conducting online outreach and research on improving access to health care and ending the war in Iraq.
It's hard to believe that Phil Sherwood had little to say about this situation. He's never at a loss for words when it comes to the 2 Republican Alderman and Republican Mayor Timothy Stewart. Could it be that he's embarrassed because of his stance on the disclosure ordinance he wants put into place, or all his talk about Freedom of Information?
Let's see if I have this straight; a Herald reporter goes to the NB Tax Collector's office and seeks information about taxpayers. Mr. Sherwood should understand that this info is covered undered FOI statutes; the tax collector's office gives the reporter the information that the taxpayer provides. The reporter reports the information provided by the taxpayer - if the information is not correct who is at fault? Certainly, it is not the tax collector's office nor is it the reporter for, the information was provided by the supposed taxpayer(s). The reporter reports on this verifiable information; is the reporter responsible for verifying unknown to everyone, personal family information? NO! Is this a situation where some people, because of their position(s) in society feel that they are immune to public scrutiny? I don't know. What I do know is that data is just that, DATA? City officials and Herald reporters don't twist the data. Spin doctors do that. Reporters reporting on verifiable data and city hall personnel opening the books cannot lie about such things. They do NOT lie about such things and need not apologize for being honest. NB Democratic spin doctors should bury their heads in shame for blaming everyone but themselves for their problems. You reap what you sow. If you sow hatred and lies, you reap the repercussions. Wake up!
Ruth Vazquez Centeno confirmed the property was in her name, that she was legally married to Roy but that as to why the taxes hadn’t been paid was no one’s business.
WHY DON'T THE REST OF US JUST STOP PAYING OUR TAXES AND WE WILL JUST TELL THE TAX COLLECTOR IT IS NONE OF HER BUSINESS WHY THE TAXES ARE NOT PAID. AFTER ALL, IT WORKS FOR AN ALDERMAN, SO WHY SHOULDN'T IT WORK FOR THE REST OF US?
