DPUC Rejects CNG's Request for Rate Increase

In a decision issued today (6/15/09), The State of Connecticut, Department of Public Utility Control (located here in New Britain) has denied the Connecticut Natural Gas Corporation’s Request for a rate increase. CNG’S current income being further reduced 4.3% under the Utility’s order for the ensuing year.

The DPUC cited the decrease in the cost of natural gas as the primary reason for the denial.

The final decision by the panel of commissioners assigned to this matter is expected at their June 30th meeting.
