What is GREGY trying to do ? Does that mamas boy think that we are all stupid ? I think he is a perfect candidate for the president of the class of the Sherwood school of B S .

Someone must investigate where he was living BEFORE he and his wife bought this house orrrr did his mommy buy the house

So let me understand, while serving
on our council for the last year and a half he has been residing in
Berlin with his parents. I don't really care what his reasons were he was in violation of his civic duty was he not? He has now purchased a home in New Britain so
should we just forget that he was an New Britain elected official that lived in Berlin? Where has he
been paying his car taxes during his period of saving money? This is absolute B.S. and doesn't come
as any surprise at all.

What arrogance. This kid gets pissed at the Herald for not asking him directly when he filled out the form in error. Grow up Greg! Who paid for the house mommy and daddy? Certainly can't afford a mortgage on a political hacks salary.

It's no one's business if Greg Gerratana's parents helped with the purchase if his new home...it isn't uncommon for parents to help their kids in similar situations. Also, only a portion of the parent's property is in Berlin..poolhouse area. The residential portion is in New Britain. Give the kid a break!!

If this were REPUBLICAN Greg Gerrantana would the democrats be as "forgiving" or would "new and improved" ethics regulations be proposed?

We know what's going on here. Go after Stewart and Bernacki because they (God forbid) invest in the City.

Regardless. Welcome to the neighborhood Greg.

Alderman Greg Gerratana: I guess you had to move out of the Berlin Pool house because it all caught up to you; because for the last two years your status as an alderman was somewhat “questionable at best.”

Glad to see you finally decided to move into the city that elected you in order to complete your existing term.

Didn't someone say he has his car registered in another town too?

I wouldn't blame him if he did, with the socialist Democrats in power on the council, the taxes in New Britain just keep going up, and up, and up and everyone except the aldermen pay, and pay and pay.

Oh, thanks for setting the record
straight. Only the pool house is in Berlin. So where are the taxes paid?

It is nobody's business if his parents helped with his down payment or not but it is everyone's business if he took up residence at his parent's in Berlin
while acting as an elected official
in the city of New Britain.

Alderman Catanzaro clearly shows his ignorance if he is quoted accurately in this article, but it is an ignorance that is understandable, because like most members of the city council, he has been supported most of his adult life at the expense of the taxpayers.

His statements to the Herald show that he apparently does not understand that a business like Wal-mart exists solely to make a profit and is not in business to support the social ills of a dying city. His quote that the company failed to take into account the needs of the employees and the people of the community exemplifies his ignorance about the business world.

The only matter that a company is concerned with is whether or not the store is making money, and if not, it is the responsibility of the company's board of directors to either make the store profitable and if that is not possible, then they must cut the cancer.

This exemplifies why our city council is so out of touch with reality. Look around the table and count how many members of the council have ever run a business, or even worked in a private sector job where their employer was motivated by profit. The majority of them either work for the government, or some other social organization that is funded directly or indirectly at taxpayer expense, and this is the main reason why they just don't get it.

It has become public recently that many of them do not own property in the city and that others don't even own up to their responsibility to pay their car taxes on time while expecting the rest of us to pay.

Isn't it about time that the council represented the people who are paying the bills that they create? It seems appropriate that with upcoming municipal elections, we should look for candidates who understand what it is like to run a business and need to make a profit for survival. At the bare minimum, how about people who will have to pay the ever growing taxes this council likes to pass on its citizenry? Then maybe the council will understand the people that their decisions impact the most--the taxpayers.
