I have lived in New Britain for a very long time, in good economic times and in bad; as far as I am concerned, Stewart is the best Mayor New Britain has had going back at least 50 years. The following excerpts taken from Jim Craven's article in the Herald today explain my feelings.

Stewart has said in the past that it is his first-hand knowledge of the city and its residents that has allowed him to stay in office and help people during the worst economic downturn in recent history. “For those of us who were born and raised here, this is a struggle the likes of which has not been seen in decades.” Stewart is expected to run on a platform of fiscal responsibility. “We think it’s important to highlight Mayor Stewart’s accomplishments as a fiscal conservative, his municipal budgeting skills and getting the city in a good financial state,” Carver said (Paul Carver, RTC Chair. “Our budget is balanced and our mill rate has been stable during his administration.”
Since Stewart and I are not personal, social friends I don't need to know anything else about him. Stewart shall get my vote in November.

Unless O'Brien thinks he can get Obama to pass massive tax breaks for employers and to abandon his attitude of punishing anyone who owns property, his cap and tax plan, his socialist medicine plan, and all the other business busting plans the Democrats are ramming through, you will never see another manufacturing job created in New Britain or anywhere else in America.

O'Brien is either following a pipe dream, or is simply lying to the public for political expedience.

You be the judge on November 4th!

I am a registered democrat who will vote for Tim Stewart and his entire team. Let us all try to make New Britain the great city that it was before redevolpment.
Stop giving things away, like free things that go into the basket by the so-called poor. If it musy be done then give smaller portions.

Let's hope Frank Smith joins Team Stewart!

Tim O'Brien doesn't have a chance against Tim Stewart. Taxes in New Britain have remained stable over the past six years; Economic Development is in progress downtown and Pinnacle Heights will follow suit...all thanks to Tim Stewart lighting the fires that got the ball rolling.

Best wishes to Tim Stewart on his next 2 years. Keep up the good work!

Frank, we all know your party affiliation but this is an opportunity to show support for
fiscal responsibility by giving
your bi-partisn support to Tim Stewart!

I read Frank Smith as a Democrat of the old Democratic party that was once made up of the working class, and in my opinion, he is one of the old working class Democrats that resents his party being hijacked by liberal radical extremists.

The Democratic party of today does not represent the working class and in fact works to support and encourage not working and surviving off the working class being forced to pay more taxes to support those who contribute nothing to society. The party platform, at least under the leadership of little Mac seems to be that you and I should be happy to work harder and pay more taxes so that more people can not work and be supported by our ever increasing taxes.
