Voting for the Nutmeg Games by Catanzaro Created another conflict of Interest for Him

It was quite an experience to have an adverse remark directed at me by Alderman Paul Catanzaro at yesterday’s downtown district public hearing of the common council sub committee of Planning, Zoning and Housing.

Since the Alderman is an at large representative I must be one of his constituents whether he agrees with my philosophy or not.

At the very least he should respect his elders even though this elder has exposed many various conflict of interest voting issues by the Alderman while acting in his capacity of Alderman for the city. His most recent was when voting for the 2010 nutmeg games requested by the parks department’s director where he is employed.

It is believed he presents a complacent attitude rather then attempting to ameliorate his public image

we haven't heard back, did Wal-Mart accept his offer?

Nice catch Frank. I suppose the Council will let him skate on this one also.

Frank:

This incident ( Voting and speaking on the Nutmeg Games) was recorded in both audio and video formats. Anyone who watch the 6/24 Council meeting on TV both heard and viewed this infraction. Just another example of Catanzaro's stupidity.

Of course he can continue to break the law with impunity--he is a Democrat and therefore untouchable no matter how many laws he violates.

Hey Alderman Catanzaro,
Just a reminder, you have until the end of this month to pay your taxes.

Don't forget!

Herald article by Scott Whipple, 7/8/09.

This article in today's Herald that was not even included in the on-line Herald, truly points out how useless is Tim O'Brien. This time he drags the hapless Alderman, Roy Centeno with him into oblivion.
In the article, O'Brien try to show all that this hapless duo have done for the Wal Mart workers, that is nothing! What the article does show is how deep into the pockets of the various labor unions are both O'Brien and Centeno.
Mayor Stewart was already on that issue along with , Capital Workforce Partners and The Connecticut Department of Labor by June 25, 2009 - the day after the WalMart announcement.
This time he (O'Brien) drags with him Alderman Centeno. Centeno makes a couple of wishy washy statements about how sorry he is. Really, OH Wow, that's significant! But O'Brien got his picture in the paper again and, as usual, said nothing.

Wasn't O'Brien involved with the radical protests that were accusing this very same store of discrimination simply because they didn't employ managers who spoke Spanish?

What did they expect the store's response would be--holding hands and singing songs with them? ("cancións" for Sherwood's sake)

They formed protests, and now the store responded by saying goodbye to the city.

In my opinion, 162 people have the likes of Sherwood and O'Brien to thank for no longer having a job.

Being nasty is typical of left wing extremists. They attack anyone who doesn't happen to agree with them and their liberal agenda.
Look at how they keep attacking Sarah Palin. After her resignation as Governor, and after all the negative attacks last weekend, there is a new poll out today that says she has a 75% approval rating for running for President in 2012.
The nastier the Democrats get, the higher Palin's ratings go with the public, so I would imagine that the nastier this radical group on the council gets with you Frank, the more popular you are going to be with the voting public of New Britain.

Typical of the left wing of the Democratic Party. Attack, intimidate and try to discredit any opposing view.
Chairman McNamara has assembled a crew that Vladimir Putin, Raul Castro, Hugo Chavez, Kim Jong II and Daniel Ortega would be proud of.

Socialism at its best.

Typical of the Democrats...negativity and disrespect towards anyone who doesn't share their opinions or has an opposing viewpoint. Remember the Wall of Shame a couple of years ago? Maybe Frank Smith should hold a survey of his bloggers, asking which politicians should be listed on the wall of shame. See whose names keep cropping up.

Why wouldn't the constant protesting by radicals cause them to decide to close the store:

In the latest salvo in a long-running battle between Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and organized labor, the company said yesterday it will close a Canadian store where about 200 workers are near winning the first-ever union contract from the world's largest retailer.

Wal-Mart said it was shuttering the store in Jonquiere, Quebec, in response to unreasonable demands from union negotiators that it said would make it impossible for the store to sustain its business. The United Food & Commercial Workers Canada last week asked Quebec labor officials to appoint a mediator, saying that negotiations had reached an impasse.

What a jerk is this Catanzaro guy. He never learns. Come on Democrats, get rid of him.

Everyone should remember that a vote for Catanzaro is like a vote for Candelori to keep managing your money at the sewer plant.

Could it be that Catanzaro thinks the term "Alderman at Large" refers to his size, rather than his representing all of New Britain?
