Will Johnny Mel make sure the doors are unlocked?
Sounds like it could be another 3 ring circus with ever move orchestrated by Sherwood.
Anyone planning to attend this meeting should know that the purpose of the meeting is to DISCUSS THE SALE OF THE PINNACLE HEIGHTS PROPERTY TO THIS POTENTIAL DEVELOPER, PERIOD.
The Developer knows that the property has been zoned and that only the types of developments allowed in said zone are available to them. Housing of any type is not allowed.
Let's see if Sherwood, Trueworthy and company provide the public with their usual obstructionist tactics.
We should know more about this deal that the council has made for the land...why is the council not telling us what's going on?
We have a right to know!

Lets see how often Sherwood, O'Brien, McNamara, Trueworthy and company slander the developers and current administration with innuendos and then try to paint the sale as a benefit to city republicans. Such as the way the chairman of the Democratic Party insinuated that Mayor Stewart refused to speak to Reps from WAL-MART!!!
These guys will stop at nothing to destroy the current administration including poisoning a potential development that may be the impetus for future investment and development in town.
Sherwood should keep his mouth shut. He/they are NOT the boss...he/they (Council Members) are there to serve us, not vice-versa...they are NOT royalty!!!
Everyone on this blog now should attend the public hearing and speak up. State your opinion, whether you think they approve of it or not.

.
You mean when the Chairman of the Democratic Party misquoted what the Herald reported (some of us might consider it lying), had to be called on the carpet by the editor, acknowledged that his reporting of their story was "imprecise" but never apologized to the mayor for "imprecisely reporting what happened" and reminded everyone that his publication is partisan in nature? I guess partisan is supposed to mean that it is acceptable to alter facts to mean what your party wants them to? Is this the sleazy story you are referring to?
from WVIT.com:
Instead of cutting spending and programs, those who rallied outside the residence urged Rell to consider increasing taxes on the state’s wealthiest residents and corporations.
“There’s something you’re not going to hear today,” Phil Sherwood, deputy director of the Connecticut Citizens Action Group, said. “You’re not going to hear any evidence that this budget process and Gov. Rell’s executive order represents the shared journey that she promised.”
“What you will hear is evidence that Gov. Rell is attempting to force a budget that primarily takes aim at vital services, the middle class, and passes the buck onto local property taxpayers,” Sherwood said.
“We need to shift to a smarter, fairer, and more modern system that asks those with an ability to pay to pay their fair share,” Sherwood said. He also said that doesn’t mean the ‘Better Choices for Connecticut’ coalition is against streamlining government.

Governor Rell has a 65% approval rating. If there were such a poll done, I can only imagine how low Mr. Sherwood's approval rating would be in comparison?
From his pubic statements it would appear that Mr. Sherwood supports a system where all taxes are based on the ability to pay. What is next, property taxes based on your income instead of the value of the property? When he says that the "Better Choices for Connecticut" supports a "more modern" system of taxation, I understand that to mean a more PROGRESSIVE one, but that is only my opinion.

Sure is. People don't realize how scripted politics really is. The chairman of the DTC knew well that he was miss representing the facts. An attempt I suppose at regaining the ear of the moderates in the town committee. Or as I believe to be the truth, he was slinging mud so that Tim Obrien doesn't appear to be.
I guess that is why Frank Smith is like the Fox News of New Britain:
FAIR & BALANCED!
I always though Frank was more like the Journal Inquirer:
Tells it like it is, because somebody has to.
