our governor apparently hasn't learned the lesson that the only way to grow the economy is to reduce taxes and decrease the size of our bloated state government. this is only going to increase the number of businesses moving out of state and taking their jobs with them. in the end, who will be left to pay?

if she goes ahead with this plan to raise taxes, she is going to see her popularity plummet. the best thing she could do right now would be to slash the budget by cutting the size of government. layoffs of a few thousand state employees would have the general public rejoicing!

Read Kevin Rennie's column in Today's Courant. Good suggestion on what could be the first set of layoffs.
