Frank:

I tried to put this message on your blog but I screwed up.

Has anybody else noticed that of the mailings being sent out by Democratic candidates for Common Council, not one mentions any connection with Tim O’Brien?

Numerous pieces from Trueworthy, Sherwood, Catanzaro, Heramowski, Lausch, Pina, etc., mention only themselves.

There is no recognition of a “team” approach!

Then again, I wouldn’t mention it either!

Is it because O’Brien really has nothing to offer nor do his running mates?

Maybe they don’t want to be associated with Sherwood, Trueworthy, Catanzaro, Gerratana, Bielinski, Hermanowski or any other hapless Democrat.

Is there a team of any kind here?

Contrast that to the team style approach By THE STEWART TEAM! WAKE UP NEW BRITAIN!

Actually, Tercyak had a picture of the two of them,O'Brien and himself together. On the other hand, Peter needs to connect with someone in New Britain where he claims that he lives with his Mommy!

Would some one in that area check out how many times that you see Peter Tercyak's car in his mother's driveway. We are paying this guy near to $30,000 a year to represent our district and we don't believe that he lives here! His father, Tony, a very honest man, would roll over in his grave.

Does anyone elected to office live in New Britain anymore?

Remember the Berlin pool house?

Manchester?

Who in their right mind would want to be associated with O'Brien? He apparently is even too radical for most of the Democrats on his ticket!

Gotta love the latest O'Brien mailer. Rich Marzi has an axe to grind because he didn't get what he thought he deserved from Stewart. Andy Lesniak neglects to say he owns a SIX FAMILY on Booth St. His $1,000 increase spread over 6 families equals $167/year per family, or an extra $14/month per family! And he's complaining after the STATE MANDATE that Stewart couldn't control?? Ms. Garcia simply gets the facts wrong, since Mayor Stewart is also for magnet schools, which must be approved by the BOE (which turned it down last time). And Emma Pierce is completely ignorant, since O'Brien knew less about the state budget than I did when I spoke with him last fall! Do you have any REAL issues to run on, Mr. O'Brien??

Democratic Alderwoman Shirley Black said Trueworthy has changed in the last year, going from a very eloquent and clear speaker to someone who rambles disjointedly. "I think it's something we've all noticed" and "He was very focused and punctual, but seems more confused now. He's late to meetings now when he was always on time in the past" (Councillors concerned over Trueworthy's behavior; by James Craven, May 12, 2009).

Obivously, The Stewart Team is the Only Team!

The Democrats are all running around trying to take care of themselves, where with Team Stewart you have a unified team working as one. Imagine having that on the council next week, one team working together for the good of the city, instead of pushing a political agenda of their own?

What a refreshing change that will be!

Tim O'Brien has been my State Rep for the past 6 years and has promised Property Tax Reform at the State level in each of his campaigns. What has he delivered? Zip, zilch. nada, NOTHING.

He has lost us Education $$ from the State, After 22 years as a homeowner in NB, my taxes have finally stabilized under the Stewart administration. The mil rate is down substantially.

O'Brien can't deliver on his empty promises. Where is the O'Brien Team? I encourage all to Vote Team Stewart on Tuesday, November 3rd!

NEW BRITAIN: Mayor Timothy Stewart came under fire from three Democratic Legislators over his firefighter's pension, a matter that has been the subject of political arguments for years.

Stewart got a leave of absence from the NB fire department when he took office in 2003, and has been building credit toward his pension ever since.

The firefighters union and three city Democratic leaders have called that action unfair to taxpayers, and with just five days left before Election Day — State Representatives Chris Caruso of Bridgeport, David McCluskey of West Hartford and Jamie Spallone of Essex raised the issue anew.

All three said Mayor Stewart was using his office to give himself special perks, and declared that they'll introduce legislation next year to restrict such arrangements in the future.

But, the CT State Labor Board has sided with Stewart and the City, saying State Law entitles him to accrue pension credit during an extended leave from his job as a New Britain fire marshal and Mayor of New Britain.
