I was impressed by the turnout. I would say there were at least 350 to 400 total in attendance. I knew Tim was popular, but the turnout was overwhelming. I was glad to see it.
Congratulations, and Good Luck next week to you and your entire slate, Tim.

It was nice to see so many Democrats there too!

It was a great turnout by a wonderful cross section of New Britain. I agree with the Thorn about 350 to 400 in attendance..a well organized event, with a friendly atmosphere. What a comparison to O'Brien's fund raiser last week, where it's been said only 40 people attended...
MacNamara and company, eat your heart's out!!

Special thanks to all who made the event a success. Erin Stewart, Mary Ciccarillo, Peter and Gayle Steele, John Giannini both sr. and jr.,Jimmy Russo all did a wonderful job of plannaing this affair. The turnout was even greater than the last pasta dinner two years ago! I hope all had a great time and to all of the candidates who showed up, thank you! Our team represents a great cross section of this city and people need to know that. I have been honored by all of your willingness to put your lives out there to be scrutinized by all. Victory is near and lets pray that the people of Nb finally see that its time to put the city first!
Thanks you also to Frank for attending.
Sincerely,
Mayor Stewart

The Mayor spoke to a huge group of supporters last night about his accomplishments, compared to the empty promises of his opponent. Some of the things Mayor Stewart mentioned were:
Celebration Foods came to New Britain, bringing 300 new jobs.
Dattco and Guidas were enticed to stay in the city, rather than leave.
Big Sky Fitness Center opened.
The reconstruction project of Walnut Hill Park.
The New Britain Rock Cats renewed their contract for an additional 20 years.
The paving plan for the town was redesigned to be a multi-year need based plan allowing for systematic maintenance.
The Redevelopment of Corbin Heights
An extensive downtown redevelopment project was initiated, including the construction of the future police station.
Creation of the Willow Street Recreational Facility
The opening of La Quinta Hotel in downtown New Britain.
The Hart Street Extension Project
The Daughters of Mary Reconstruction project, providing 42 assisted living apartments as well as senior and child daycare.
The demolition of Pinnacle Heights and continued work to redevelop the area.
Holding the line on taxes, actually lowering the mill rate over the six years of his administration.
Seen an increase in New Britain’s bond rating despite the global economic downturn

In my opinion, continuing the course with a proven track record is better than a change where no one knows what to expect. If you don't believe me, look at CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN, as it unfolds in Washington!
