Lou Salvio, Republican Alderman Speaks Out

10/12/09

To The Editor:

Many have predicted that this year's Municipal Election would be hard fought and perhaps, near the end, nasty. Tragically, that prediction has come true. It has even involved unlawful use of taxpayer funded State computers by Tim O'Brien's aide, Greg Gerratana, in an attempt to smear the Mayor and his family.

The NB Democratic Town Committee and its Chairman, John McNamara, have endorsed candidate for mayor, Tim O'Brien. Most recently, in a mailing from O'Brien to the voters, former Board of Ed. member, Peter Kochol pledged his support to O'Brien.

In a letter sent to Klingberg Family Centers Employees dated 7/17/2003, the employees are encouraged to join the New England Health Care Employees Union, District 1199, SEIU. The letter was entitled, "AREA LEGISLATORS VOICE SUPPORT FOR KLINGBERG FAMILY CENTERS EMPLOYEES." The first sentence of the second paragraph of that letter reads, "In our work as State Legislators, …" One should expect that State Legislators would sign the letter! WHO SIGNED THE LETTER?

The signatories are as follows: Donald J. DeFronzo State Senator 6th District; Tim O'Brien State Representative 24th District 24th District; John C. Geragosian state Representative 25th District; John H. McNamara Democratic Town Chair New Britain; Peter J. Kochol Board of Education New Britain; John P. Valengavich, Chair Board of Finance and Taxation New Britain. Please note that at this time, Peter Tercyak was not yet a State Representative; his father, Anthony Tercyak was still in office.

While the letter purports to come from NB State Legislators, it is nothing short of a scam! Peter Kochol, John McNamara and John Valengavich were not then, now nor ever, State Legislators!! This is nothing else but deception, bald-faced prevarication and sleaziness by all six signatories to deceive Klingberg employees.

If anyone wishes to see the letter, I'll show it to you. In the meantime, ask O'Brien who it is that is lying and trying to deceive the public with empty promises and a "deedless" campaign by all Democrats.

My name is Lou Salvio and I approve this letter!

Doesn't John Valengavich also serve on the Mattabassett board with former Colonial Realty partner, Bill Candelori?

You know, I used to think that Don DeFronzo was a decent guy... not anymore. I didn't need this post from Lou to understand that Don DeFronzo had taken the low road.
One more to need defeating next round.

just what we need as taxpayers, a mayor that goes around encouraging people to join unions!

Tim O'Brien thinks every worker deserves to belong to a union.

Imagine his new unionized "green manufacturing workplaces" Investors are banging down New Britain's door to start-up their new businesses in the red. Profits and money making are evil to a mis-fit like O'Brien the goverment should provide everything
for everyone and taxes are going to low too. What an absolute moron.

Anonymous, I think the story is even deeper than that: Imagine once this new business venture fails here in New Britain because of the ever increasing taxes that the Democrats love raising, and then when the mayor himself (assuming O'Brien were actually elected) joins groups of radicals to picket their businesses, and the investors decide to do the right thing and move the business to a business friendly state like North Carolina, or Texas? O'Brien's fellow Democrat, Attorney General Blumethal will be there to drag them to court to block them from moving their business, so in a sense they will be held hostage here, forced against their will to keep their business in Connecticut by order of a liberal judge who legislates from the bench.

Won't the knowledge of such scenarios that are already playing out in the courts draw businesses to Connecticut like O'Brien promises?

I can see them beating down the doors to invest their hard earned money in New Britain already.

Contrary to what O'Brien and others think, there are those of us who can think for ourselves without the unions telling us what to think and/or what to do.

Also, Bill Candelori is no longer a partner with Colonial Realty...let it go!!

and Bernie Madoff is no longer with Bernard L Madoff Investment Securities either!

Sounds like the Democrats don't like you pointing out that they appointed a convicted felon to administer over $10 million of your taxpayer money, especially when he is asking for another $90 million for the expansion of the plant. Are they embarrassed for the public to find out that the Democrats appointed a felon to chair such a board?
