MEET THE CANDIDATES:

Mary Marrocco, Alderman--Ward One

Mary Marrocco has been part of the New Britain community her entire life. Mary attended local schools, worshiped in local churches, and supported the various establishments this city has to offer.

Mary has spent almost 40 years at the Hospital of Central Connecticut (formerly New Britain General Hospital) working in the capacity of a staff nurse, and completing her career in Nursing Administration.

In 2005, Mary received the hospital's prestigious Loretta Martinelli Award for Community Service. In presenting Mary with the award, Hospital Board Chairman Harry N. Mazadoorian said: "The award is given annually by the hospital to honor one extraordinary individual who exemplifies caring and has made a significant contribution to the community. This year, the award goes to a remarkably dedicated 35-year veteran of our hospital--Mary Marrocco, RN, Clinical Manager for E2 and the Same Day Medical Unit. Mary displays dedication, devotion, and passion in everything she does--here with patients and staff, and with others in the community."

Mary says that if she is elected, she will work as a team player, taking on the necessary challenges to make New Britain the best city it can be.

I have never met Mary, but she sounds like she will make a welcome addition to the council.

She appears to be a responsible person who will do what she thinks is right for the city, which is just the type of integrity we need in city hall.

Good Luck Mary!
