DEMOCRATIC FALSE CHARGES!

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

WHY IS Kochol BLAMING MAYOR TIMOTHY STEWART,IN A RECENT O'BRIEN MAILER, AND NOT REPRESENTATIVE O’BRIEN SINCE IT WAS THE LEGISLATIVE ACT THAT KICKED IN THE RE-EVALUATION INTO THE REAL ESTATE TAXES AS OF July 1st, 2008 TAX BILLING FOR WHICH PETER KOCHOL IS BLAMING OUR MAYOR.

The legislature could have stopped IT last year but did not and IN the mailer O’Brien is quoted “Will also work with the state legislature to increase state aid, and to push for real property tax reform at the state level”.

Why Didn’t O’Brien accomplish that for the city of New Britain taxpayers while he was in the legislature? But merely promises if elected Mayor he will then accomplish what he should have done as a legislature by eliminating the re-val problem.

MORE OF THE FALSE PROMISES AND WITH NEGATIVE CHARGES AND NOT THE POSITIVE DISCUSSION OF THE REAL NEEDS FOR THE CITY BY THE O‘BRIEN CAMPAIGN

Vision Appraisal began compiling the sales data at the highest point
of the inflated market. By the time the tax bills went out the real estate market was already tumbling. The re-assessment is mandated by the state. Mayor Stewart's only option was to lower the mill rate which effects both homes and cars. So while most of us even with the mill rate reduction saw an increase in our home taxes, renters saved money on their cars. Owners of multi-families got slammed with upwards of 30% increases in their property taxes. Obviously, those at the state level couldn't or wouldn't do
anything to prevent this fleecing. Mr. O'Brien.

Mr. O'Brien has obviously never been a landlord trying to budget for taxes, mortgages, repairs and loss of rent and try to turn a profit because owning a multi family property is a business and for your work and the responsibility of providing housing for others you should get paid. It's not something anyone does for charity. I cannot imagine how the landlords in the city are getting by let alone profiting after the last tax assessment. We can expect to see increased blight and abandon. Look around some of the multi-family neighborhoods, decline is evident.

Tim Stewart understands and works to combat this up-hill battle everyday. And it should also be mentioned that our public safety servants, police and fire do also because with every step backward this community takes, public safety
works that much harder.

O'Brain-less is an idiot! Everyone knows their taxes were going up because of the STATE MANDATED REVAL.

O'Brien knew that Tim Stewart would lower the mill-rate saving him money on his car taxes. He needed the break with only earning a part-time legislative pay-check.
Now he's trying to become Mayor so he can come up in the big league and get a real paycheck. After he would get elected (let's pray that doesn't befall us) he will forget all about the voters he pandered to.

A perfect match Kochol and O'Brien.

Mr. O'Brien seems to be stacking his campaign with cheats, liars and people that state computers.
Kochol also works for the State of Ct,

O'Brien would love to see private property owners pushed out to make way for his social regime. Then he could bring the grant writers in (sweet jobs for them) to provide housing for all on the backs of all of us.

Keep America the Nation it is intended to be...FREE. Vote Row A
on November 3rd. Tim Stewart Team

What did Kochel get paid to put his face on that mis-leading political toilet paper?

Tim O’Brien’s latest mailer only proves the fact that he has become a desperate candidate. As he runs around town, knowing on doors, he is getting the message loud and clear from the voters that they do not approve of his policies or the antics of his Democrat buddies on the Council. His whining to the press of a negative campaign obviously starts with him. What a cry baby and a liar on top of it.

I am proud to be running on Mayor Tim Stewart’s ticket. Come November, the city will rid it’s self of an antagonistic Council that does not have the best interest of the voters or the city in mind.

Next time Tim O’Brien knocks on your door, hand him a Kleenex to help him dry those crocodile tears that the voters now have a deaf ear too!

Craig,
you caught me off guard with the reference to crocodile tears. When I saw you wanted people to offer him a tissue, I thought it was going to be to dry those slimy, sweaty palms that anyone who has shaken his hand has been disgusted by.

Best wishes to you Craig and Don over in Ward 4.

I agree that it is an act of desperation, sending out a flier picturing a "nobody" making wild accusations against the mayor for something the legislature, which O'Brien is a member of, caused by mandating a reevaluation of the property values.

If O'Brien was sincere about lowering taxes, why didn't he use his position in the legislature to stop the required reevaluation?

Let's hope the average voter is smart enough to see through this BS!

I suspect Peter Kochol has held onto the values he had when an active member of CANB (Citizens for Action, New Britain) and is using then to "benefit" Tim O'Brien's candidacy...GIMME A BREAK!

Right on - And he was fired from CANB for claiming articles he wrote were his and in reality they belonged to someone else. The same unethical things he did on the Board of Ed.

The house of cards is falling, falling , falling.

Mr. O'Brien you should pick those that will help your campaign.

Have the other legislators from New Britain officially and publicly come out to endorse Tim O'Brien for Mayor?

Talk about ethics and conflicts of interest and LIES? ????
On July 17, 2003 in a letter to Klingberg Family Centers entitled, "AREA LEGISLATORS VOICE SUPPORT FOR KLINGBERG FAMILY CENTERS EMPLOYEES", JOHN MCNAMARA, PETER KOCHOL AND JOHN VALENGAVICH PASS THEMSELVES OFF AS "STATE LEGISLATORS!"
In the second paragraph of the letter it states, " In our work as State Legislators,..." Simply, a bald faced, deceptive lie! O'Brien endorsed by Peter Kochol? - Kochol was a member of the NB Board of Ed. at the time!!! Talk about Democratic False Charges!!

The purpose of the letter was to try to organize the workers to join Local 1199 into the union. The letter was also signed by DeFronzo, Geragosian and, O'BRIEN. Big surprise? Our state legislators are union controlled. They are also supported by the WFP and ACORN.
