Joe Biden: A Savior For Dodd--Really???

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

There has been considerable hype in the mainstream (Obamamania) media lately about Vice President Joe Biden's visit to Hartford, as if being seen with Biden was the savior to Dodd's floundering campaign for re-election. But just how much clout does the name Joseph Biden hold in any election?

Let's take a look at the Delaware 2010 Senate elections for a possible answer. The name Jospeh Biden doesn't seem to fair well in Delaware even against a Republican who hasn't declared himself a candidate. (Biden's son Beau, who is currently Delaware Attorney General, is legally named Joseph R. Biden III).

As Rasmussen reports in the latest Delaware poll:

"The first Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 survey in the state finds that longtime Republican Congressman Mike Castle beats state Attorney General Beau Biden by five points – 47% to 42% - in a hypothetical match-up for the seat Biden’s father held for 36 years."

In conclusion, Chris Dodd shouldn't put too much faith in public appearances with Joseph R. Biden II to save his campagin, especially since Joseph R. Biden III is losing in the polls by 5 points to a Republican who isn't even a candidate!

Senator Dodd might also consult with the losing Democratic candidates for Governor in both New Jersey and Virginia to determine how much assistance they received in their campaigns from their endless appearances with President Obama--apparently not too much.

Sad news Mr. Dodd--the Democratic brand name is suffering severely from all the socialist bills emanating from Congress these days--chief among them the Obamacare bill that is so unpopular with "we the people!"

Maybe the best thing you could do to help your campaign, Mr. Dodd, is to start listening to your constituents for a change--now that would be change we could believe in!
