I agree with the Congresswoman on the points contained within this declaration. However, what is not detailed is how excellent healthcare coverage is going to be made affordable for the American Citizen. Most citizens have some form of healthcare coverage and the public has indicated loudly that we don't want the goverment running our healthcare system. However, private healthcare coverage dictates many of our lives each day. We cannot find ourselves without coverage and so we stay in jobs that we would prefer to leave, we hold back on being self-employed, we put off desired retirement, we marry, we stay in marriages. Personal, emotional life decisions are made everyday in this country based on our healthcare coverage.
In addition to this declaration of maintaining control over our medical care we need to see medical insurance offered at competive rates and not directly tied to employment. I don't buy my auto insurance based on where I work or who I work for, and medical insurance should be the same. Imagine what a free feeling it would be if we could purchase acceptable priced, private medical insurance on any given day regardless of our working status?
Many people who can afford to retire would do so opening up the job market for younger more enthusiastic workers. The list of positives is endless. Insurance companies would be forced to compete for our business!!! The best company with the best plan and price wins and we would win.
The democratic party is pushing goverment healthcare for the poor.
We will always have those that are dependent, that will never change and our system can continue to provide for them as we do so well in this country. But don't make the responsible American dependent
on the goverment. Don't push me over that edge.

I applaud the congresswoman for pushing through the democratic train wreck to speak for the people but we do need real reform
and soon.
