Gerry Garcia Candidate for the Secretary of State

As a candidate for the Secretary of State, Gerry Garcia presented his comments to the Democratic Town Committee meeting Thursday evening; the following are some of his comments:

Mr. Garcia, from the New the Haven area, stated a reason for his candidacy simply was that that he felt the Hispanics had no reason to go out to vote since they were not offered people for them to vote for in the last New Britain elections, and that is why he is a candidate, to give the Hispanics a reason to come out and vote.

He mentioned he had worked on the O'Brien campaign in New Britain and that the Hispanics did not come out to vote because they had nothing to vote for.

I totally disagree with his comment as to why there was a low vote result here in New Britain.

If he had worked the campaign here in New Britain, as he stated, he would have known that The Hispanics had choices under both slates with two Hispanics winning on the Democratic slate and one on the Republican slate.

Mr. Garcia stated that the reason for his candidacy is to give the Hispanics a reason to come out and vote.

They did have a reason to vote in the last election, and made their choice known by rejecting a working families party endorsed socialist candidate and instead choosing the vision of Mayor Timothy Stewart by reelecting the Mayor for his fourth term.

Another candidate with a myopic view of government. Government is not there to protect the rights of only hispanics Mr.Garcia. but of all people who live under the tent. And if you think hispanics did not vote in NB last November you were not at the polling places the rest of us were at. They were dragging them out of their homes to bring to the polls just ask Millie Herrera, DeFronzo's elections enforcement queen. She lied and coerced hundreds of poor hispanis to vote for O'Brien while lying to them in their native tongue all the way to the polls. Nice people preying on their own those democrats!

This is what we call "identity politics," and it is nothing but progressive garbage. We are all Americans, plain and simple. Democrats LOVE to kowtow to seniors, the poor, minorities, the unions, women... any group they can possibly separate and create an us against them mentality with. It's too bad that some people are too stupid to see right through this, and continue to vote candidates like this into office. Hopefully, this is one candidate that will be shown the exit.

Sounds like someone Sherwood would associate with, just like when he said a particular appointment for a vacant council seat belonged to a "Puerto Rican" not based on anyone's abilities to serve the people, but instead simply based on a person's ethnicity. Apparently these liberals judge individuals on the color of their skin, and not the content of their character.

Shameful!

Had this candidate checked, he would have found many Hispanics and Blacks on either ticket. This guy wants to be SoS?

Sounds like what you would expect from the Democratic party, and why not, the current SOS doesn't seem to think that the laws even apply to her, so why not a nut job like this who doesn't think enough Hispanics were on the ticket?
