Glenn Beck did a great job showing how Texas should be the model for all other states to follow.
For example, the Texas Constitution prohibits the state from ever taxing personal or business income ever!
The Constitution also restricts the legislature to being part time and only meeting once every 2 years, because as the Constitution describes them, the Texas forefathers considered the legislature to be a threat to individual liberties.
Without an income tax, the state is arguably the most financially sound state in the union, with a rainy day fund estimated at $22 billion. In comparison, California this year faces and estimated $587 billion budget deficit.
