BOTH....wages 50% higher than the private sector, benefits CADILLAC, pensions CADILLAC, businesses (big and small) closing or leaving and the government unions won't help? Sorry.. the sympathy train left the station long ago.

The unions are demanding every dime they have coming to them because they think they are "untouchable," just like the elitist Democrats in Congress, because Governor Rell was dumb enough to sign an agreement that guarantees "no layoffs" until next year.

The only problem with the union's attitude of "screw the public" and "let them all pay higher taxes" is there is a huge "donut hole" in their agreement.

The agreement allows the state to lay off anyone they want for "programatic layoffs approved by the legislature," so all the state has to do is start targeting programs for elimination, and then every employee in that program goes "bye bye!"

Now all we need is some politicians with the cojones to stand up to the union gangsters!

As long as we let ACORN/Working Families Party radicals like O'Brien control the legislature, you can prepare to pay skyrocketing taxes to support the ever growing bloat in state government.

Why can't governor Rell just go back on her agreement and sign another one to lay off people? They do it for everything else they want. Just becasue they make a promise or sign an agreement doesn't mean they have to stick to it. Just look at our Congress and President, they do it all the time, even if it is against public opinion. Since when do Unions do anything for the people they represent. They just want there dues and self interest anyway. I am sure if we said NO to the unions the people they represent would still rather work than go on strike.

The unions issued a disgusting statement demanding every dime they can get, and telling the governor if she can't find the money to pay them, to raise taxes.

Remember that as you send in your tax payments to the State of Connecticut this April and just think how the unions want your tax payment to be even higher,
