New Britain Community Organization March Meeting.

The meeting was held Wednesday evening at the Regency building's community room with the following issues evaluated by its membership:

First of all the invited guest speakers were among the missing as they were invited by the chair Mr. Richard Marzi.

Comments that the work under construction in New Britain such has the Police Station were being done by out of state workers was countered with the facts that the Contractor, Architect, and the Engineering firm were all from New Britain. And that any out of town subcontractors bidding for some of this work had to compete with local city sub contractors with their having a ten percent advantage provided for them by the city ordinance.

A considerable amount of time was spent for the evaluation of the concerns of the homeless during the in climate weather. The New Apartment Building with 21 units on Arch Street, currently under construction, primarily to help the homeless by providing this shelter temporally helping them get themselves oriented to move into permanent housing.

Paul Carver, a Current member of the New Britain Board of Education, discussed the addition for the Diloreto school for 10-12 school rooms subject to state bonding approvals.

Mr. Marzi informed the attendees that within the near future the NBCO will become associated with the CANBI.

The meeting concluded with its three sub-committees meeting covering The Board of Education , Housing, and political.

Why don't they just call themselves ACORN? That is what they are trying to do isn't it? Having the conspiratorial theorists in attendance like Marzi and Guinness lends so much credibility to the organization...just joking....FYI the city has not even picked a contractor or Architect for the Police Station project yet you idiots and you're having a conversation about living wages and local contractors? I hope some of the contractors low ball the bids and come from outside NB to show these people how stupid they really are!

Be careful about criticizing Marzi, Sherwood may try again to get the city (taxpayers) to pay for a union to defend him.

Hey, Anonymous. You really told us. Rich Marzi and I are really upset that you are trashing us as -- what was it, "conspiracy theorists" ????
(Look whose talking)
But seriously, Rich Marzi is so much more of an American than you are because for one thing, he is not afraid to have his name associated with what he says.
That is why he has credibility.
People who just parrot the party line and hide behind a moniker don't have any credibility.
Even your hero, Mayor Timmy Stewart makes it a point to man up to his remarks and sign his name.
So what are you afraid we will find out you are really an ACORN operative?
Don't be so bashful.
Thanks for thinking enough of me and Marzi to write in (to Frank Smith of all places)
Sincerely,
Rick Guinness

The way he criticizes Frank's blog while even he is posting on it, gives me the impression that he is jealous that Frank has a more successful site than his own!

Rep. Tim O'Brien to kick off his Re-Election Campaign on May 7th 2010 - creating new industrial jobs.

We need to turn things around here in New Britain and Connecticut. That is why we are pressing for legislation in Hartford to create construction, community improvement and small business jobs.

Tim O'Brien will be pressing for legislation to create these new industrial jobs in Connecticut by citizens investing in a clean energy economy, public transportation and the manufacturing to supply these new jobs.
