Can the CPOA hire an attorney to sue the City Of New Britain and members of the common council?

I personally am not interested in paying for this B-- Sh--. Anymore.

Yes they can and should, however we will have to pay to defend them. So again we lose. However if the intent of Phil, Mike, Mac jr or even O'Brien was to use this, and the cities money for their own personal or political gain ( WHICH IT IS) then that is criminal. So I would advise the CPOA to retain council to review this and the future actions that they take. I will stop in to the meeting , for part of it, to hear what they think. The Common Council (most of it) is out of control, and needs to be stopped. Our city government has become too much about politics to the point that the people are all but forgotten. We need to put a stop to it now, and change who we have representing us in this and next Novembers Elections. Can anyone imagine a Government that actually represents the citizens and not just their political careers ? Crazy right ? No its not, its what we should and could have if we stand up and vote.

This is so disgusting...Sherwood and Trueworthy are far from financial experts...the money they plan on using for attorney fees for such a law suit could be used toward BOE expenses.Every voter in NB should contribute at least $5 each to hire a lawyer and sue these 2 imbeciles.

Is this meeting open to the public?

The meeting is a closed meeting; only for the Board of Directors and Officers. Should you have a comment you wished relayed to the Board for consideration, please email us at cpoanb@gmail.com

I am specifically looking to thoughts surrounding the possibility of a rally in support of the Mayoral veto.

Thanks.

The taxpayers association would be the one group that could rally enough people to put a stop to all this non-sense, after all, you represent the very people who are going to have to pay for the games these idiots play for their own gratification.

If all the council members who are property owners joined CPOA, there wouldn't be such dissention on the tax situation. CPOA is not just opened to Republicans; it's just that the Democrats don't want to hear the truth.

To: Mr. or Ms.or Mrs. Anonymous quoted here.

At least 3 current Democrat Council members were shown to be "tax scofflaws" last year. One has been judged to have had serious conflicts of interest problems and has been cited more than once for violations in his job with the city. Last year a recent Democrat council member had a problem with unlawful use of State computers at the Capitol. Yet another former Democrat member is a former tax scofflaw and another "Capitol" emp[loyee law violator. Good luck with your suggestion of trying to rein in these people.

In New Britain there is a voter registration demographic -comparing Democrats & Republicans only- that shows an approximately 4 or 5 Dems to every one (1) Rep. In 2002 (?) the Dems engineered a Charter change that removed the minority party representation rule in elections for Common Council. This date coincides roughly to Sherwood's & Trueworthy's entrance into NB politics. It's been downhill for NB ever since. If it weren't for Mayor Stewart NB taxpayers would be deeper in debt.
At least 8 of the current Council Democrats other than the two bosses, -if measured by how they vote on critical issues- are brain dead. The two bosses are just self centered and egotistical scoundrels.
