Is the New Britain Herald Playing Games To Support A Political Agenda???

FRANKSMITHSAYSNB EDITORIAL:

Upon reading the comments today that have been posted to the Herald story about last night’s council meeting, I noticed the following comment:

NB Herald is also playing games wrote on Jun 24, 2010 9:41 AM:

"When this article was posted on the web late yesterday, there were A LOT of interesting and true commentaries immediately posted. However, this morning they are all gone! Talk about selective reporting! "

I also remember reading last night’s comments. If you look at the article today, the very first posting is written by Nicholas Mercier. Last night there was a string of postings that preceded Mr. Mercier’s comments, and as I recall every one of them was negative about the games perpetrated by the Democrats at last night’s council meeting. Many of the comments had some very thoughtful reasons for opposing the Sherwood/Trueworthy agenda, but as of today they have all been apparently “purged” by the Herald for some unknown reason. There was no foul language, so why would they purge these comments?

There was also a suggestion that the story had been rewritten or reposted to the site, but what baffles me about that suggestion is that Mr. Mercier’s comments were there last night, so if that is the simple explanation, why then were the other comments not replaced along with Mr. Mercier’s?

We all know that the Herald editorial staff leans so left that they would need a boat to reach San Francisco, but some of my readers have been suggesting for a while that Sherwood may somehow control whatever the Herald prints. After seeing so many comments critical of Sherwood simply purged from their web site, it is looking more and more like these suggestions may possibly have some credibility.

After a stunt as obvious as this one, do you think they still wonder why a growing number of people don’t trust them to report the news accurately?

Well Frank I have to say 2 of my comments were removed. Geeze I am sorry I said the Herald has poor writers who never check facts , names or spelling. I should have said that Mr Craven that writes for them does that in what he writes....oops he wrote that one too , LOL

Frank:

Nick Mercier explained that yes this did happen. Evidently, the Herald posted the article twice and last night's posts were not included in today's posting. Nick explained how to go back and pick them up if you are interested.

I wonder what their motives were?

This really is no different than the national media giving Obama a pass on every screw up he makes, even though he is the most incompetent person ever to be elected to that office.

I can't believe I'm defending the Herald, but the Courant does the same thing. When they update a story, the old comments are lost.

So please just repost your comments for the all to see, but more importantly, write the Democratic members of the Council (not Sherwood and Trueworthy) to express your frustration with their actions and their lack of communication.

Also, please visit www.nbrtc.com/signup and signup for our e-mail alerts. And share this address with your neighbors and friends. We want to keep you all informed on our efforts to get to the bottom of this.

From the opening blast of Sidestepping Into the Dark -- "Are you as dumb as you look?/ Or are you playing a game?" -- "Mednick, a lifelong Democrat, has a certain Republican in his sights."

Does anyone have any question in their mind who this "lifelong Democrat" will most likely side with, or which Republican he will have in his sights this time???

Sounds like a possible conflict of interest me!

I watched the televised council meeting on Thursday evening, and was appalled at how insulting Phil Sherwood was to the Mayor. It's one thing to disagree with what the Mayor said or did, but to be downright insulting is pre-kindergarten-like. I was also very surprised at Larry Hermanowski for suggesting that the west end streets took priority for improvements because the Stewart family happens to live there. My family does not live in the west end, yet we receive excellent services where I live. I sincerely hope the Democrats get elected out of office during the next municipal election, with the possible exception of Carlo Carlozzi and Roy Centeno, who appear to have the best interests of the city at heart, rather than their own political agendas.

Sherwood has clearly demonstrated he has no respect for the authority of the office of mayor. You are witnessing how a liberal extremist acts towards anyone who disagrees with his own socialist ideology. Is Sherwood's attitude toward Mayor Stewart any different than the way liberals treated George W. Bush--a man that more than 50% of Americans wish was still in office, and a man who enjoyed a higher approval rating throughout his entire presidency, than the current president will ever achieve. Thankfully radicals like Sherwood still represent a small minority in this country, and that is what will ultimately get this country back on the right track.

If you read today's Herald (6/29/10), yo'll see that the Herald is simply a conduit for inflammatory comments from Democrat, ultra left wing wacko, Phil Sherwood!
