No Show Democrats

Act Three!

The special meeting called by President Pro Tempore, Alderman Trueworthy was cancelled, with a notice by the city Clerk, posting on the third floor level board.
Apparently the so called Democratic votes could not be accounted for a 2/3rd vote to override!

Good show fellows and the voters now know who to not vote for in the next city election.

Who wants to waste their Friday evening listening to a nut job like Sherwood bloviate endlessly like he is some sort of royalty.

The issue of competitive bidding is exempted for "professional services" so the issue regarding selection is moot.
GETGARY SHOULD:

CHECK CGS-SEC. 7-148V.

That's funny because when I read 7-148v, the only exemption from the bidding process on purchases exceeding $7,500 is for municipalities who contract with the State Dept of Administrative Services to tack on to existing state contracts.

There is no reference to professional services. The law is clear and unambiguous: in no case can an ordinance allow a contract or purchase that exceeds $7,500 without it being subject to the bid process required by state law.
There is absolutely no exceptions besides the one allowing for the pooling of resources with State DAS.

....Must be one of litte Mack's minions making up the law as he would have it read for his own benefit?

The question remains: When did the solicit bids for this contract?

Council Democrats;
Even the Herald editorial board disagrees with your opinion about the mayor:

Our cities are fortunate to have strong, experienced leaders: Mayor Timothy Stewart in New Britain and Mayor Art Ward in Bristol. Both have the best interests of the community at heart and are doing a fine job.

If you listened to these lunatic Democrats, you would believe Mayor Stewart was the devil himself, but obviously even the Herald has stopped listening to them!

While you are busy bashing the mayor, the Herald calls him a strong, experienced leader who is doing a fine job!

Just to show you how Trueworthy and Sherwood work: some Democrats did show up for that meeting and some got permission to leave work early to get there. Why did this happen? Because Mike and Phil don't care a bit about anybody else; they could have called everybody alerted them that the meeting had been canceled at approx. 3:30. Jus a couple of self centered, egotistical people.
