Frank:

The title you gave to this Herald article is misleading; the article reflects only what Herald editor, James Smith -in his own words- feels is "relevant."
It's hard to know what is Smith's motivation for printing this stuff. If one was going to print anything, print all of it, not simply what one person feels is "relevant! "

I loved my "...." comments.

Let's now stop the name calling and move on. There are too many pressing issues challenging our city and state; (1) JOBS (2) growth in the economy (3) becoming business friendly (4) becoming tax friendly (see Sunday's Courant pg D1), (5) cut the growth in government spending, (6) cut the unfunded mandates on cities, towns and businesses, (7) cut the growth in debt spending, (8) tackle the explosive city costs for medical coverage and pensions, (9) accountability in education spending, etc etc etc

According to Smith's account, Sherwood said nothing, but that is true even when he is talking.

...and Schroeder is wondering why nobody is reading his rag?

Britt Hume described the NY Times as among the last things he reads, if and when he gets around to it, because as he described the Times:

"It isn't accurate, and it isn't necessary."

I couldn't think of any more accurate way to describe the New Britain Herald:

It isn't accurate, and it isn't necessary!

That's why I say don't even read it online, because when you do that, you are helping increase their online advertising. The fewer of us who read it, the faster they will do us all a favor and fold.

NEW BRITAIN - Marilyn K. wrote on Jun 29, 2010 as a BOE member, I was a thorn in Kurtz'a side from Day One. That took guts with the many "Bobble Heads" that were on the BOE in 2009. For months, I had been forceful in trying to get Kurtz to get rid of one of her useless hires who was getting over a six figure salary. Character counts with me. Color counted with her.

The night that she was almost ousted and not have her contract renewed, [5-4]the place was stacked with supporters, many from the NAACP. I was warned that they were out to get me.

The president of the NAACP spoke at public presentation. He said that he had been forwarded an email written by a BOE member and suggested that he would be diligent in getting at that BOE member if things did not go as he intended. He should have been shut off by the chairman Kochel who was probably the one who forwarded my email to him.

During a break, I went over to the president of the NAACP, lightly touched his arm and stated, " I am not a racist. I am a daily communicant, how could I be a racist?" He screamed at me," Stop pushing me.
Get your arm off me. God is going to get you. Watch your back because we are watching your back." Wow! Is that threatening or what? There were witnesses.

About a week later around 8:00 PM, my door bell rang and I opened the door to one of New Britain's finest. I was really frightened that something had happened to one of my family. Who wouldn't be?

The police officer was embarrassed to be there but had to ask questions of me as I had charges filed against me. The president of the NAACP said that I pushed him at a BOE meeting. Imagine how this 75 year old lady felt. Wait til I email my kids with this one!!

There were two influential witnesses who told the police that I did not push this guy who was 2/3 my age and towered over me. He actually went to the police station and filed false charges against me.

Sounds like the New Britain NAACP Fat Man that accused Marilyn K BOE member of hitting him at the Board of Education meeting , was so fat...fat - we are sure he has bumped into many people with out their knowing it.

As bad as the NY Times is, they at least identify their owner. The Herald keeps its owner's Identity a secret. Shouldn't we wonder why?

As bad as the NY Times is, they at least have the guts to let you know who owns them. The Herald on the other hand refuses to reveal the identity of its owner. This strikes me as being cowardly.
