Letter To The Editor

Dems Veto Override Costs Us $3 Million"

State Representative Tim O'Brien voted along side 105 other Democrats to increase the public campaign funding for Gubernatorial Candidate Dan Malloy by $3 million. This rises the cost to taxpayers from $3 million to $6 million dollars this year to pay for his political campaign. The Democrats, and their veto proof majority in the Legislature, successfully overrode Gov. Jodi Rell's veto to increase these funds last Friday.

This adds $3 million more to our state debt. We already have the highest overall taxes in the nation, the highest government debt per-person in the nation, and the second worst pension liability in the nation. We currently owe $51 Billion to the state pension fund, which is expected to run out of money by 2019.

Even with all this debt, Tim O'Brien voted in favor of increasing taxpayer funds to spend on campaign TV commercials and lawn signs.

It should be apparent to the people of New Britain's 24th house district that Tim O'Brien voted to protect his political interests and not the interests of the people from New Britain. We could have spent those millions of dollars on job creation or education instead of going to TV commercials. Enough is enough. Everyone but the State of Connecticut is trimming their budgets due to the economic conditions. We need a Representative that understands this. We need a Representative in New Britain that understands we have priorities before funding campaigns. We need a Representative who wants to put Connecticut back on track.

Cris Carillo is that candidate.

Cris is committed to balancing the state budget without raising taxes. Cris is self employed and a property owner in New Britain and he understands the task ahead. Unlike Tim O'Brien, Cris is an independent minded individual who doesn’t make decisions based on party politics. We can't afford the tax, borrow, and spend policies anymore. Our current Representative has been in office for 8 years - it's time for a change in Hartford.

On November 2nd, I suggest you consider Cris Carillo for State Representative of the 24th District.

Regards,
Jason Stark

Imagine what could have been accomplished if O'Brien worked as hard to get that same $3 million for the New Britain School System?

Instead, O'Brien and his wife reportedly choose to send his stepson to an out of town school, so O'Brien, despite all his rhetoric about caring so much about New Britain's schools, has no personal stake in New Britain schools unless it can appear to support his own political motives at that particular moment.

Aren't we all just a little tired of this big phony--supposedly representing our interests in Hartford when he clearly only cares about the agenda of the radical left--no matter what the cost to the children, the taxpayers, and the people?

Has anyone heard of the spectacle O'Brien made of himself carrying his infant child around at the polls in extreme heat and humidity?

What goes on in this guy's head?

Carillo can be as committed as he wants to balance the state budget. However, he cannot do it alone no matter how much Stark thinks he can. Beware of politicians who say they will do something and then wake up and find out they need a majority to change things!

Someone should have called Careline and reported him to DCF!

SO WHAT ARE YOU SAYING, WE SHOULD VOTE FOR THE RADICALS WHO KEEP SPENDING MORE OF OUR MONEY ON SOCIALIST PROGRAMS BECAUSE UNLESS WE ELECT ENOUGH CONSERVATIVES TO TAKE OVER BOTH THE HOUSE AND THE STATE SENATE, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STOP THEM FROM DESTROYING OUR STATE, SO WE SHOULD JUST RE-ELECT THE PROBLEM CHILDREN THAT ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CONNECTICUT BEING IN THE WORST FINANCIAL CONDITION OF ALL 50 STATES?

IF YOU ASK ME THIS IS DEMOCRATIC LOGIC!

HARTFORD — Connecticut AFL-CIO convention delegates unanimously endorsed Richard Blumenthal for U.S. Senate, Dan Malloy for governor and the five incumbent U.S. Representatives Tuesday.

THERE'S A REAL SHOCKER! THE UNIONS ENDORSED THE LIBERALS WHO WILL WRITE THEM A BLANK CHECK WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!

Tim O'Brien goes everywhere with his baby. He was at a bonding commission meeting earlier this year shaking hands and campaigning while others passed the baby around the room. First of all I don't know why he was at the meeting in the first place and secondly, as a parent and a mom, there is a time and place to include your children. Who is Tim O'Brien trying to appeal to. He doesn't appeal to me exploiting his new found parenthood.

Bill O'Reilly asked tonight why the Democrat's poll numbers are tanking.
I say look at Tim O'Brien, and you will understand why their approval numbers are lower than whale droppings!

Tim O'Brien was following in the footsteps of John Geragosian in bringing his infant daughter around last year in his campaign appearances...nothing new there!
Are they prepping their babies to be their political clones??? Looks like John MacNamara is training his underlings well!!

If there is any justice in this world, O'Brien's child will grow up to be a conservative Republican after a lifetime of witnessing radical extremism first hand.
